Thorner Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 An expansion team picking 6th is straight up Ridonkulous. Quote
Huckleberry Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) Down two spots, damn :( Oh well Nylander dropped to us as well when nobody expected it. Been using this gif way to many this year :p Edited April 30, 2017 by Huckleberry Quote
Scottysabres Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 I wouldn't trade Reinhart at all, didn't we draft LW Alexander Nylander last season? How about moving O'Reilly to wing where he belongs and having Eachel/Reinhart up the middle and strengthen our 2 lines? I'm open to all ideas. However, Nylander isn't remotely ready. At least in my opinion. And ROR is fine where he is at. A 60-65 points a season 2nd line center is nothing to sneeze at, and if he gets the right linemates, who knows. Reinhart is expendable for the very reason you bring up in my opinion. Ask yourself how many teams would trade youth for youth, center for winger. Personally, I would be looking at Arizona for a deal like this. Quality for quality. Quote
Huckleberry Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Problem with moving O'Reilly to wing, you lose one of the best face off guys in the NHL. I'm more for rolling out 3 lines with Eichel - O'Reilly - Reinhart. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 For those of you keeping score, there's only a 13 in 100,000 chance of this result. Quote

Huckleberry Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Where are the dynamic wingers that will maximize production for this configuration? Kane and Bailey worked great with Reinhart when he was at center. Its one thing that stood out with me. Okposo I'd have flank Eichel and Nylander with O'reilly. The other two spots I'd just fill with Fasching, Baptiste or Ennis. But we don't have them I guess. well the first mock draft I see has us taking Heiskanen, lets hope makar drops :p Quote
Eleven Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 I honestly don't understand some of the outrage I'm reading. It's a drawing. Quote
Huckleberry Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 I honestly don't understand some of the outrage I'm reading. It's a drawing. hehe yeah, We needed and luck and we didn't get it, blaming bettman is weird :p Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 I honestly don't understand some of the outrage I'm reading. It's a drawing. The existence of the drawing is dumb. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 We're Sabres fans, we are supposed to love a good conspiracy theory, especially when it involves Bettman. Quote
Eleven Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 The existence of the drawing is dumb. I'm fine with this line of thinking. But it exists, and it certainly isn't fixed. Quote
inkman Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Time to trade Kane for a Dman. Draft strategy never changed An expansion team picking 6th is straight up Ridonkulous. I kinda like it Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Draft strategy never changed Don't we need to have a GM to have a "draft strategy" Quote

I'm more for rolling out 3 lines with Eichel - O'Reilly - Reinhart. ROR can still take faceoffs and slide into the wing position after play begins Quote
PotentPowerPlay22 Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Vegas got screwed. Leave it to the NHL to come up with such a ridiculous system. How can they not give the first pick to an expansion team? What the hell is wrong with the worst team getting the top pick? BTW, Buffalo is a jinxed city apparently. WTF!!! Quote
I-90 W Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Moving down is definitely a kick in the teeth. Quote
