blugold43 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 i know it doesn't mean as much as it used to, but it's still an accomplishment. what is this, the fourth or fifth time they've done it?

Blugold...do you say this because of the 1pt for getting to OT and the new Shootout rules? I see your point, it is a different scoring system than teams that reached 100pts in the 80's and 90's, but I have to say that I still feel like 100 points is a great accomplishment. Just as a note, this is the 7th time in franchise history the club has reached 100pts. Here are the others: 1974-75: 113 1975-76: 105 1976-77: 104 1977-78: 105 1979-80: 110 1983-84: 103 2005-06: 100 (and counting!)

I noticed this last night -- with 6 more points in our last 6 games, we will have our 3rd-highest regular-season point total ever. Even with the extra point for the OT loss, that is still an amazing accomplishment for a team with a rookie goalie that everyone picked to finish at the bottom.

GO SABRES! :)
