Apologies for the comments last night. I was very drunk. That said, I do hope Eichel puts the loss of money on his shoulders, not the coaches, and uses it as motivation for next year.

It's OK, we are all frustrated about the team. But we can agree that it's much better with Jack moving forward

In vino, veritas.

I know it's a slippery slope of giving into what players say about the coach but IF Jack has an issue with Byslma and the system, he has to go. Jack IS the team so you give him the C for next season and press delete on anything that has happened over the last 7 months.

How do you fix that? Frustrating beyond belief. If DB is truly coming back he's done by the holidays with the team 11 points out of a playoff spot. F me.

Isn't that about the worst strategy in the world?  Commit to a coach that has a two full season track record of losing,  ignore other available coaches all through the off season, then decide at Thanksgiving that, after 6, 7 weeks into the season, that we (we being team management) are totally shocked that the preceding 6 weeks have been exactly like the previous 2 full years of crap, and we need to make a coaching change right now and with likely no handy solution available.

What then? Do the Pegulas and Murray anoint the next Roy Ruffton as interim?   And how does 2017-18 end up being anything but another wasted season?

To be fair, Eichel didn't say that.

Yeah, that's hfboards-spin for yah.

I just finished watching Eichel's interview, and I can't believe some of the conclusions being drawn from it. I just saw a kid who's pissed his season ended, who expertly used cliches and jargon to make sure that he didn't actually say anything noteworthy.

I just saw a headline on FOXSports where Eichel calls out the team's desire to win. He clearly said the desire is there; what he seemed to question is the dedication, "dedicating your life" to winning.

It's Harrington spin, the exact words he tweeted, and a lot of people ran with it. FTR, Harrington asked if more players have to hate losing the way Jack does and Jack said yeah, then went on to say, "You can't be satisfied you're in the NHL" and it's one thing to say you want to win and another thing to want to win and to dedicate your life to it.

The "too many guys" exaggeration by Mike made it sound like Eichel thinks there are, uh, too many guys, lots of guys, who are satisfied.

It's exactly like when the guy from Sun Sports in Toronto said Murray didn't want Eichel and in fact he never said anything like that. News outlets like Buffalo and others don't even bother to fact check things they just take a tweet and go with it. They are lazy and I don't believe most of the headlines anymore because they are bastardizations of actual quotes.

Eichel, McDavid....

I'm reminded of a presser with Murray just prior to losing that draft lottery (and McDavid), and having to take Eichel instead...  Murray, when asked his thoughts about the lottery;

"I'd like to win SOMETHING"

And of course, predictably, we didn't win.  And McDavid went to Edmonton.

This is the wrong city for winning, Murray, the wrong city.... lolololol!!!!!    I think Murray with his big fat contract has now made himself more comfortable with the losing position.

I wonder if we'd landed McDavid if Babcock might have been tempted to coach here, instead of Toronto?   That lottery loss may be more profound than we realize?
