LTS Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Hopefully the Sabres "braintrust" won't get this kid injured as they attempt the dog and pony show for the few fans that remain in these last few meaningless games. How would they get him injured? The insinuation that he's not smart enough to play in the NHL and will put himself in harm's way? Aren't there more headhunting goons in the AHL than the NHL? Quote
TheAud Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 At least they didn't pick a game for his NHL debut that has extra pressure or scrutiny...like, oh, I don't know...against his BROTHER. Quote
Marvelo Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 How would they get him injured? The insinuation that he's not smart enough to play in the NHL and will put himself in harm's way? Aren't there more headhunting goons in the AHL than the NHL? There are many young draft choices like Kane and Bogosian who were brought in too early and through inexperience got hurt and developed chronic injuries. It's much faster and more ruthless game in the NHL, you know that right? Quote

Rather than scrutiny, maybe he's like most athletes and views this as an exciting opportunity to play against his bro Quote
Samson's Flow Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Well at least there is this little side story to distract the masses over the last few games of the year. I still want to beat Toronto to ruin their playoff chances, but other than that the apathy is strong in this one. Quote
TheAud Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Rather than scrutiny, maybe he's like most athletes and views this as an exciting opportunity to play against his bro I am sure that's Alex's perspective. I don't think it really matters though...NHL debut will be exciting enough. Probably could have used him yesterday and then he'd face his brother today. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 And he's going to skate with Rodrigues (sp?) and Foligno. FFS. I will never get the thinking on this sort of decision. Quote

Will start with ERod and Foligno. #Sabres Isn't this the kind of gamesmanship that Bylsma wanted no part of? Remember when he wouldn't start Eichel against McDavid? There were other instances of this too (but my mind is fuzzy on them). Why is the Nylander matchup suddenly a thing? Quote
Sabel79 Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Why is the Nylander matchup suddenly a thing? There are no other things, unfortunately. Quote
Taro T Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Nylander to wear 70 tonight. What, the square root of pi was already taken? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Nylander to wear 70 tonight. Making him the first Sabre to do so, yes? Not for nothing: 70 is a number of some significance for this franchise. Quote

inkman Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 Too bad it looks ugly on a forward sweater He's number 91 in general, right? 19 with the Merks Quote
Randall Flagg Posted April 3, 2017 Report Posted April 3, 2017 19 with the Merks Now that I think of it he was 19 at WJC as well, so maybe he picked 91 in Mississauga because someone there had already had 19 Quote
