All goalies have bad goals against. He has not been at all bad this season. Other than in shootouts actually I think he's been pretty solid.

Soooo, looking at our record he must have had a lot of those "bad goals against".

Does Gionta's kid play for the Islanders?

I saw Gionta won a faceoff against ERod and I'm like ...

His brother Stephen does

It's one of the few cases where the Sabres have the better brother

Our record? Have you watched the games? This defense in front of him has been bad. That's the reason for the record.

Uh, yes I have. And I have seen more soft goals than I care to remember. Not all his fault but enough are.

Yep, that's little brother Stephen, who is also little in the physical sense of the word. Same size as Brian, but our Gionta has outscored his brother 289-16 over their careers.

Okay, you're seeing a different problem than I am.

I am just comparing his play against what I remember from guys like Edwards, Sauve, Hasek, Barasso, etc. Too many softies IMHO.

Fair enough. So let's compare the play of our defensemen to Korab,Schoenfeld,Ramsey etc.

Steve Gionta once came to a noon time skate and shoot at MCC and spent the entire time hitting on the lone female skater who could not have been less interested. It was one of the weirdest things I've seen.
