North Buffalo Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 (edited) http://www.ncaa.com/interactive-bracket/icehockey-men/d1 Thought that we will be all following Cal Peterson and should probably have a discussion thread for the last three games. Should be fun to watch and see how he does and the rest of the guys do. Any other Sabres prospects playing? Be interesting to figure out what D are undrafted on these teams and if they have any potential. Denver seems to have a couple of guys... this guy is the most intriguing, but they have a bunch of young D too... http://www.denverpioneers.com/sports/m-hockey/mtt/blake_hillman_973008.html, and him too http://www.denverpioneers.com/sports/m-hockey/mtt/erich_fear_1018135.html Denver listed if player was drafted, not sure about others. This guy with Minnesota Duluth seems ideal for Sabres http://www.umdbulldogs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2321&path=mhockey Edited March 31, 2017 by North Buffalo Quote

darksabre Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Sean Malone from West Seneca, NY playing for Harvard That bracket is weird. Harvard v Minnesota Duluth? Hard for me to see either of those two teams winning the whole thing. My money would be on the winner of the ND/Denver bracket. Also of note, Dennis Gilbert of Buffalo, NY for Notre Dame Alex Iafallo from Eden, NY playing for Minnesota Duluth Quote

dudacek Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 (edited) Pretty sure Gilbert is the son or nephew Sabres executive Mike Gilbert and was plucked by Chicago just ahead of where the Sabres were planning to draft him. Malone is a later Sabre pick for the juicy 2013 draft who has had an excellent season and has speedy 4th line two-way centre potential. Conner Hurley a Sabre second rounder from that same draft left ND earlier this year for reasons that were not explained. Looks like a total, bust. Edited March 31, 2017 by dudacek Quote

Youngest player in the draft if I recall correctly. Never was any better than he was on draft day. His stock went down more and more with each passing day. Never a single glimmer of hope from his college play. Quote
