GoPre Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 (edited) I figured out why the offense looks good: 4/5 of these goals have been absolute crap   :w00t:  That one had me rolling!   So no goal and no penalty.  What a joke!  And now Buffalo is on the PK?!  :censored: Edited March 28, 2017 by GoPre Quote

Ottosmagic13 Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 I'm okay with the kick, only if they get called on the hook/slew foot Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 Isn't the rule just about a kicking motion? I'm honestly not sure the fact he was tripped matters, because it was definitely a kicking motion. Quote

Doohicksie Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 Sadly the correct call. Â No, the correct call was a hook on Floriduh, but they didn't call it. My wife just laughed at Rob Ray's use of "atoll" Â "Mr. Ray, please use that in a sentence." Â "That wasn't a very big Bikini Atoll." Quote

Randall Flagg Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 Yeah, if the rule is written as "kicking motion" then that was the right call. Ah well, Eich will get it back in the 3rd. Quote

Stoner Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 (edited) Heh. Anyone feel like doing some legwork? I'm legitimately curious how often the team with the best PP in the league misses the playoffs. Seems like it'd be a rare thing, but I honestly don't know. Since the lockout, a few. Side note: the Sabres currently have the sixth best power play of any team since the lockout and damn near the best home power play over that span.  05-06 Detroit  06-07 Montreal  07-08 Montreal  08-09 Detroit  09-10 Washington  10-11 Vancouver  11-12 San Jose  12-13 Washington  13-14 Pittsburgh/Washington  14-15 Washington  15-16 Chicago  16-17 Sabres  Isn't the rule just about a kicking motion? I'm honestly not sure the fact he was tripped matters, because it was definitely a kicking motion. Distinct kicking motion.  "With the use of a foot/skate, was a distinct kicking motion evident? If so, the apparent goal must be disallowed. A DISTINCT KICKING MOTION is one which the player propels the puck with his skate into the net." Clear as mud. It used to reference a pendulum motion. Without that term, the definition really makes no sense. Edited March 28, 2017 by PASabreFan Quote

Randall Flagg Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 Instead of being the worst possession team with a lead in the entire NHL, I'd like to see them keep pressing and scoring.  Last game, shots by period:1st: Buffalo 16, Toronto 112nd: Buffalo 16, Toronto 11 3rd: Buffalo 6, Toronto 12  None of that tonight please Quote

bunomatic Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 That shot of Bylsma talking to the guys in the room. Not sure anyone was listening. I picture the guys hearing Charlie Browns teacher. Wah wah wah wah wah wah. Quote
Winston Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 In my mind, "distinct kicking motion" always implied intent. But I suppose the word "distinct" does not discriminate against intentional kicks vs coincidental kicks. The way the rule is written, intent is taken completely out of it (probably to ease the burden on reviews, since determining intent would be a judgement call). Thanks for quoting the rule, PA. I'm much less upset over the overturn. Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 28, 2017 Report Posted March 28, 2017 Eichel carrying the puck on a 3-on-2. The other team: OH OH OH OH ! OH MAN GORGES!!!!!!  FINISH HIM. Quote
