3putt Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Win as many as you can. The draft isn't helping the roster next year. And we will get a player that helps perhaps the following. Quote
Tondas Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 VICTORY! Nice win. I'm just glad they haven't given up. Couldn't agree more. Quote
dudacek Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Couldn't agree more. Wins still feel good. I'm too old not to savour them. Quote

Randall Flagg Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 I missed all but the last 17 minutes, glad Eichel scored and wow Detroit looks meh. Lehner was prettygood, nothing else stuck out in that short sampling of hockey Glad to see Dan showing emotion during that icing miss after they called the icing that was played by Detroit's goalie Quote
hockeyhound Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 (edited) I really like the way Rodrigues plays, he seems to anticipate the play better than most on the ice. He's definitely a pest to the opposition, its like he's always throwing a wrench into the works. At one point he looked like he was directing traffic, pointing out something as he was back checking. He has made our 2nd PP a lot smoother to. Quote

He's got the look of one of those useful utility tenth forwards that really fill a role for good teams, doesn't he? Hope he keeps developing. Like I said elsewhere, we need a few surprises. Hope he keeps developing. Like I said elsewhere, we need a few surprises. That's it exactly. It looks like he sees the play develop and then jumps in at the right moment. Specialist The other thing I noticed, he always looks to drive to the middle of the ice in O-zone whenever possible. I like it, "we need a few surprises." Edited March 21, 2017 by hockeyhound Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Kane now has no points in his last 5. Get him on Sam's wing. Quote
hockeyhound Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Kane now has no points in his last 5. Get him on Sam's wing. You might be right; however, at times he was a monster defensively in today's game. They may need each other. I don't know if Sam got a stinger but, he sat most of the 3rd. It's either that or Dan is doing him like he did Jack when he sat him after a bad play. Quote

I thought I saw a stat where he hit 30G's earlier in his career, or it was close to it. I'm just glad they haven't thrown in the towel, and it would be really nice to see the Sabres play the spoiler. If nothing else just keep going, and let's hope for the best next season. Edited March 21, 2017 by hockeyhound Quote
WildCard Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 His Defensive Play has picked up dramatically as well He didn't move his feet the entire WC. As soon as he came back, he really, really started moving his feet. I think him being shown up in that tournament really had an affect on him Someone should let the Sabres beat writer for the Buffalo News know that. He was just on Twitter yesterday saying "every scout and GM" has told him Matthews is better. It pisses me off that those jack wagons get paid good money to do that and here we are with better analysis doing it for free  NBC broadcast now heaping praise on Eichel, even when he's on the bench being vocal. Mike Harrington is somewhere trying to score an interview with a Leafs scout to let us know why Jack sucks. He's the worst. Such a jabroni Sabres have gone from outshooting Detroit 18-6 to being out shoot 28-26. Fire Dan! Shhhhhh, it's all the fragile players faults "Dan Bylsma screaming How is that not a hook?" Cut to shot of Bylsma on the bench, arms crossed, looking like a cuckold husband. Amazing  Quote
Robviously Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Kane now has no points in his last 5. Get him on Sam's wing. Eh. The more I watch Kane, the more worried I am that he's never going to figure out how to use his line mates. He scores when he creates his own opportunities or gets set up but it seems like he rarely creates a scoring chance for someone else. Quote

JJFIVEOH Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 I'm a tad behind, could that 3rd period have been any more predictable? Quote

Randall Flagg Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 We've been Detroit's bitch my entire fanhood. I'm glad to see that stretch finally be over. Quote
Hawerchuk Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Sorry but I'm too lazy to scan thru this thread. How did AUSTIN play tonight? Good win. Very happy Detroit will not make the playoffs... Finally!! Screw 'em!! Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 21, 2017 Author Report Posted March 21, 2017 I remember Austin making one turnover which was covered up by a diligent ROR. He seems to want to move the puck super quickly, maybe too much so. Other than that, didn't look too out of place. Oh, he had a team high 3 shots on goal too. (Although lots of people had 3.) Quote
Sabre fan Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 I still can't figure out why the Sabres insist in playing tired worn-out D-men over young guys...I hate Toronto bu give them credit cause they are playing meaningful games right now and doing it with a bunch of young guys on d hat are not very good but who knows, maybe they'll get better....at least one can find excuses for them, unlike we can for aging vets like Gorges, Franson and Kulikov (and Bogo for that matter). Either way, nice to see a win...ANY WIN is good Quote
