Doohicksie Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 Well, yeah, he plays defense too. Creeping in from the point Quote
North Buffalo Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 Quite a few utube videos: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Viktor+Antipin Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 I wonder if he knows Borat?Lol!! Is this a done deal? Or still speculation? Quote
respk Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 He's Kulikov's replacement ;) A buddy for Kulikov when GMTM resigns him? Quote
ct fab Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 Seems pretty done. We're also a finalist with DAL for a college LHD who's apparently deciding tonight. Gut says he picks DAL though, getting two, cheap, potential 3-4 dmen in one night seems too good to be true. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 15, 2017 Author Report Posted March 15, 2017 https://youtu.be/WkTYdI1m3B8 Number 71 in this video might have a future in the NHL as well Quote
sodbuster Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 I wonder if RO'R influenced him to sign here. He and the O'Reilly brothers played together for Magnitogorsk Metallurg. Quote
Guest Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 (edited) Kind of like the blue jersey with the red mountains on the side in the first Youtube video. He's Kulikov's replacement ;) For the Metalurg, Kulikov will be his replacement. :P Edited March 15, 2017 by yse325 Quote
Huckleberry Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Did this happen? I'll believe when he signs with us :D Quote
dudacek Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 He's still playing in the KHL playoffs. And I don't think any deal would become official u til after July 1. Quote

WildCard Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 @BJWilsonWGR 22m22 minutes ago More Viktor Antipin scores the GWG on the PP, registers a game-high seven shots on goal and one blocked shot in a game-high 25:36 of TOI. #Sabres Quote

I bet DB will pair him with Ristolainen and make them both play 30+ minutes together. Maybe we'll fix our D issues by just playing our top 4, until they collapse from exhaustion or something. The other 2 guys can do their best Reinhart impressions and sit and watch the game without playing. Quote
Trettioåtta Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 What are the chances another team swoops in and signs him? Probably Toronto, they seem to get all the breaks. Quote
darksabre Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 It'd be nice if we could just accidentally have a good defense next year. Quote

ddaryl Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Did we win the battle because he grew up loving Mogilny, or did we win the battle because all of those playoff teams decided he wasn't worth their time? Oh how I love the pessimistic attitude of Buffalonians.. Wallow in it, bathe in it, get it all over you. I bet it feels just wonderful or could be about future and gaining playing time. playoff teams today are rebuild teams tomorrow... For all the hatred fans throw against the Sabres we still have a very young and talented core and only need a few key pieces. We have a few older overpaid vets that will be purged in the not to distant future so there are potential lineup spots and playing time in the near future for these players having owners who wil commit to winning for better or for worse also speaks ot these players knowing they are not going to be hung out to dry.. there is obviously commitment to a championship in Buffalo (for better or for worse) Quote

Every team thinks they are only a few pieces away. Time stands still for nobody so by the time we lose all the aging vets like Gionta, Moulson, and Gorges then Okposo will be in his 30's and O'Reilly will be nearly there. What happens if their production falls off a cliff? We think and hope they'll just plateau and then age like wine vs milk but we thought the same thing about Moulson, especially given that his production was never predicated on speed to begin with.
