inkman Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 So they are switching to Murph at his regular time today because of the scouting combine. :wallbash: Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Even though the deadline day has been a letdown in recent years, that is still ridiculous. Quote
bcsaberks Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Yup. First time in years they haven't covered it "wall to wall". Sucks it's come to this. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 It's worth noting that Matt Coller would typically be hosting the afternoon time slot, and he's not there anymore. That could be part of it. Quote

That could be part of it. They have about 5 guys who sound 12 with stupid takes that could do the job. What about Mel Piper Jr? Quote
Brawndo Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I don't know about the rest of you, but I couldn't live without hearing directly from Sean McDermott that no decision has been made on Tyrod and how happy Kyle Williams is to be returning next year. Then there is Donald Jones talking about his combine experience. I recommend anyone who missed it, gets to the WGR On Demand Section of the APP right away Quote

They have about 5 guys who sound 12 with stupid takes that could do the job. What about Mel Piper Jr? Meh. Given we aren't expected to do anything other than Franson and Kulikov for picks, I don't get the demand to have wall to wall coverage. I'm sure if something big and unexpected happened, they could shift gears on the fly. Quote

Wasn't the biggest Coller fan but miss him now. Can't do Sal as the constant fill-in, mostly because I'm not interested in Bills. Schopp appears to be on vaca this week as well. Regardless, if the team was in the playoffs, or close to it, I think there would be coverage all day. Quote

Petey: "Man, I'd knock someone out to get Mike Weber back. Er, I mean it'd be nice to get Webbie back. I'd never condone punching anyone, especially kids. I used to punch adults for a living, but that's hockey." Edited March 1, 2017 by MattPie Quote

WildCard Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Have you listened to John Murphy for five minutes, its cruel and unusual punishment I don't mind him. Better than anyone else they have on there Quote

Radar Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Yup. First time in years they haven't covered it "wall to wall". Sucks it's come to this. They picked the right year to not have it. Quote

SwampD Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I can't blame them for not covering today's, um, happenings,... all three of them so far. Wasn't this known to be a slow deadline day because of the expansion draft? Teams that might have traded their "unwanted's" for a pick are keeping them for draft protection, or something. Quote

Wasn't this known to be a slow deadline day because of the expansion draft? Teams that might have traded their "unwanted's" for a pick are keeping them for draft protection, or something. Yup. One EC exec said it would be the slowest in the last 15 years. Expansion draft + dead cap + league parity at an all time high = boring deadlines Quote
SwampD Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I should also add that past deadline day coverage shows have been dreadfully underwhelming. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I don't mind him. Better than anyone else they have on there Too much of a homer and he jumps on callers who criticize the team Quote
WildCard Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Too much of a homer and he jumps on callers who criticize the team You sure you're not thinking of Schopp and the Bulldog? Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 (edited) Too much of a homer and he jumps on callers who criticize the team You ever hear those callers? One guy called to rant about how the Bills never ever sign free agents ($91M spent on FA in 2015) or keep their own players (Jerry Hughes, Marcel Dareus, etc.) or make trades (Shady? Hughes?) What do you say to that guy?? Edited March 1, 2017 by PromoTheRobot Quote
WildCard Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 The worst part about this deadline is it makes WGR look good Quote
Brawndo Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 I would like to apologize to WGR and say it was a brilliant idea to have the John Murphy Show on. You ever hear those callers? One guy called to rant about how the Bills never ever sign free agents ($91M spent on FA in 2015) or keep their own players (Jerry Hughes, Marcel Dareus, etc.) or make trades (Shady? Hughes?) What do you say to that guy?? Yes and I have also heard Murphy defend people associated with the organization to the death, only to flip a switch and bash the same individual when they are gone Quote
