Randall Flagg Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 Everybody fretting about Matthews needs to understand this.... he's at his peak right now. It's all downhill from here folks, and once his ELC expires and he signs a max deal, he'll regress even more. They better trade him for Moulson while his value is still high. Quote
Thorner Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 Yes, really, and pretty much 100% of neutral NHL observers would agree. Not sure I agree with this. McKenzie didn't. Unless Matthews is Lemieux to Eichel's Ron Francis, this argument is about as relevant as Bergeron is better than Toews or Thornton is better than Sedin. THIS. So much. Quote

inkman Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 I've been thinking a lot about this subject, like a nice nap on a Summers Eve. Deep inside this team is a funk, and a stench so powerful it one would only have the Good Sense to cleanse it. Duchesne is what this team needs to feel fresh and renewed. Quote
Thorner Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 What did McK say? I saw it on TSN talk radio so I can't link an article, but it was something to the effect of that both players looked really promising and it was much too early to make any judgments. He also specifically reiterated that had Matthews been in the McEichel (remember that poster who, for a brief time, was trying to get everyone to use "McDeichel" instead? Haha) draft, that the overwhelming consensus was he would have gone 3rd. Quote
