Brawndo Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) Former Buffalo Sabre and current co host of The Instigators was involved in an incident where he appears to punch a player from the opposing team. https://twitter.com/shannshep4/status/835700665565462528 He has to be done as a coach for the Junior Sabres. Is he done on the Instigators as well? Edited February 26, 2017 by BRAWNDO Quote
Lanny Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) Looked a lot like an open hand push to the chest, not that he should be getting physical w 15 year olds, however this one in particular seemed to be trying to go into his teams bench. I'm guessing a suspension as coach and a public apology on the radio show. Edited February 26, 2017 by Lanny Quote
Brawndo Posted February 26, 2017 Author Report Posted February 26, 2017 I dunno, that looks alot like a left hook to me Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Stupid. A grown man not stopping the fighting but joining in. Quote
pi2000 Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Having level 4 USA Hockey coaching certification, any physical contact with any player is extremely frowned upon. We're talking min 30 day suspension, and the Jr Sabres most likely permanently relieve him of his coaching duties. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 He finally won a fight..... Hey Oh! I've typed it here before: Peters is, at best, a Delta Bravo, and, at worst, a POS. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Btw, I do sorta wonder whether Peters' (mis)conduct will prompt WGR to reflect on the name of that show (assuming Peters continues in his role there). There's a part of the world of hockey that wants to continue to wink and nod at the game's Neanderthal past. Quote
LTS Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Of course its stupid.. but it didn't cause long term career pain for Mike Milbury when he assaulted a 12 year old. Quote

Good point. Forgot about that. And Milbury is, from what I can tell, in a league similar to Peters in terms of mentality. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Hey Oh! I've typed it here before: Peters is, at best, a Delta Bravo, and, at worst, a POS. He's pretty close to the latter. Knew a few people who went to the roast of Biron, and Peters was obnoxious, bordering on belligerent, to the point where he significantly reduced their enjoyment of the event. Yelling out whole others were roasting, near constant barrage of F-bombs when it was his turn. Just bad all around. Quote
Taro T Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 What is a Delta Bravo? The German word for shower along w/ a bag for said shower. ;) Quote

There's a part of the world of hockey that wants to continue to wink and nod at the game's Neanderthal past. I was talking to my wife about this story this morning...and she said the same thing about the name of the WGR show. She isn't really a hockey fan, only watches a few minutes a year of games and goes to one with me every few years....but she wanted to know why they chose that name for the show for the reason you mentioned. I have had a few personal experiences with/near him, and I am firmly in the POS camp. I have listened to his show a few times. He's actually somewhat serviceable in that role of hockey talker. Why not just say douchebag A weird hang-up of mine. Not sure. Quote
LTS Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 My one time experiencing Andrew Peters in person was enough for me. Plenty of arrogance for a guy whose primary job was a fist stop in the NHL. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 The economics of finding commentators for NHL media seems to come down to the fact fighters and tough guys are cheaper to get than skill guys that probably are rich and not interested in a second career. At least in local markets. Just a thought Quote
Jacque Richard Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 The French speaking Marty Biron and rivet show now. My one time experiencing Andrew Peters in person was enough for me. Plenty of arrogance for a guy whose primary job was a fist stop in the NHL. Like rob ray? Quote
