LGR4GM Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 Don't quit your day job. Who's your college football team? Out of curiosity?
Taro T Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 (edited) I love that I don't need to buy a digital TV antenna now. Just make one. You'll only be out about $2 in parts and all your Sundays for 16 of 17 weeks. Edited August 21, 2017 by Taro T

WildCard Posted August 21, 2017 Author Report Posted August 21, 2017 Don't quit your day job. Mahomes should
jeffismagic Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 Mahomes should Well, I am sure you are better at evaluating QB's than John Gruden, Andy Reid, Sean Payton, NY Giants front office, and the Steelers. Mahomes was a great QB prospect that the top QB people in the NFL could not stop talking about. Comparing him to TT is so asinine I have no other words. And when you have a guy running free at the QB you don't "go through progressions". You have to throw the ball away or make the D miss.

Came in 3rd in my fantasy league last year. 2 QB league too I might add While most analysts can’t boast that they’ve won a Super Bowl, most analysts all can’t say they’ve gone all-in on Rob Johnson, Tim Rattay, Luke McCown, Bruce Gradkowski, Brian Griese, Simms, Tebow, Manziel. You name the disastrous NFL QB, Gruden has probably been high on him. In 2005, he put Simms and Griese on the field all season after bypassing Aaron Rodgers in the draft to take Cadillac Williams. In 2007 he said of Simms: “I’m going to have to screw things up pretty good for that kid not to turn out really special.” In 2014 he said Johnny Manziel has a lot of “magic” to him and openly begged the Raiders to draft the Texas A&M man. The Raiders passed on Manziel and took Derek Carr with the 36th pick. Carr is arguably the best under-26 QB in the NFL, while Manziel is out of the league and possibly on his way to jail. Gruden remains on the air, being wrong about a whole new class of quarterbacks, telling teams that Christian Hackenberg is worthy of a first-round pick. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2016/apr/26/jon-gruden-nfl-draft-johnny-manziel-tim-tebow-espn Edited August 21, 2017 by WildCard

Mahomes was a decent QB prospect with a bunch of question marks coming out of college. This wasn't Jameis Winston. We are for realz in the concept of Mahomes territory. jeffismagic Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 Well, I am. On his QB camp, you have to read between the lines because he has everyone on there. But even if you are stuck on his TV job and cannot separate that he was very candid about two things this year. Other QB coaches were all calling him and getting excited for Mahomes and Gruden himself placed Mahomes at the top of this year's class. Throw in Sean Payton who was reported by someone as ready to take Mahomes that was in the Saints war room and the NY Giants trying to trade up for him as well as Andy Reid. Congrats on 3rd place in your league. Woooooooooo slow down there. Mahomes was a decent QB prospect with a bunch of question marks coming out of college. This wasn't Jameis Winston. We are for realz in the concept of Mahomes territory. Depends who you listen to. I agree with you if you get your info from ESPN talking heads and known QB clunkers like Cossel or Fahey who every year miss wildly.

He might be the best QB of what was dubbed a bad QB class. But like True says all the time, teams start freaking out about QBs in every drat just because of the position, even if they aren't that good So happy we traded down from that spot. Looks like the Bills finally know what they're doing. Think I might get a McDermott jersey.

ESPN? Hell the only time I watch ESPN is if I am watching a College Football Game. The guy wasn't a sure fire thing out of college, that is literally the truth. If he succeeds that is great, happy for him. You are making it sound like he was some college all star amazing QB that was a can't miss gonna be an NFL star. That isn't reality. He could become them sure, but there are a lot of questions. Hence my comparison to Jameis Winston who came out of FSU basically guaranteed to be an NFL starter.

Jameis Winston was one of the best QB prospects to come out in the last decade. I would say Mahomes would be behind him but I would take Mahomes over Wentz or Goff who went 1 and 2 in their draft years.

LGR4GM Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 I would have been fine with Buffalo drafting him at #10. I think he has all the potential to be a good NFL QB. I just don't think it is some sure fire thing like is being claimed.

I just don't think it is some sure fire thing like is being claimed. Sure fire is subjective. I would say Mahomes was a top QB prospect and someone I focused on because while I believed he should go top 3 I realized that bad teams like the Browns, Bills, and Jets would probably not know how to evaluate him properly.

I would say Mahomes would be behind him but I would take Mahomes over Wentz or Goff who went 1 and 2 in their draft years. Yea, and Wentz and Goff were both reaches. At 10 Mahomes is probably not a huge reach but honestly I am fine with Buffalo trading back and banking on the next years QB class. All I am saying is that you are on this crusade and believe me I get it. I raved about how stupid it was for the Sabres to win in 2013 because I wanted a center. But let me tell you, it is better to say your thing and defend it here or there as opposed to putting it in every single post. Tyrod throws a bad pass, there's jeff saying how Mahomes would have nailed it. Bills lose a game, theres Jeff saying how Mahomes would of won it. Tyrod hands off to McCoy, theres Jeff saying how Mahomes would have gotten more yards. We get it, you are disappointed and I do not blame you at all. The Bills suck and have sucked for so long that it isn't even fun to watch or hope anymore. But you are just going to make yourself miserable. Don't let a game do that. I got all reasonable in my old age. Sure fire is subjective. I would say Mahomes was a top QB prospect and someone I focused on because while I believed he should go top 3 I realized that bad teams like the Browns, Bills, and Jets would probably not know how to evaluate him properly. I have no doubt in my mind Buffalo can't evaluate QB's properly. It is painfully obvious. They have a year to figure it out. Time will tell.

Time will tell. Good point. No reason to let a badly run football team get you upset. And I am far past that now. Hey, at least Buffalo has Eichel. Different front offices. This year, we're gonna nail it Rosen the Chosen baby Right now I would probably take Rosen. Definitely like him better than Josh Allen and his 50% completion percentage in the Mountain West. Why would the Jets or 49ers or Browns give him to Buffalo though?

Hopefully Kizer works out, the and the Jets / 49s fall in love with Darnold, Mayfield, or Rudolph. Doubtful, but I'm hoping for it
tom webster Posted August 21, 2017 Report Posted August 21, 2017 If every QB that Jon Gruden salivated over turned out to be a franchise QB, every team in the league would have one. As for anecdotal stories about war room conversations, word was that Philadelphia, super front office that they are, were all in on EJ Manuel. Fact is, for the millionth time, no one knows and if someone did, they would be the wealthiest man in America
