jeffismagic Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Next time come up with a better argument than looking at a stat sheet, seeing similar numbers (minus the 4.2 YPC which is being conveniently ignored), and saying there's not much difference. I watch more football than is healthy to watch, and to say Watkins and Matthews are pretty close as players is either the height of ignorance or a shocking level of homerism. There are reasons to like the trade (team building, get value whole you can, etc), but "not much difference" isn't one of them. In a past life I was supportive of taking Bray in the mid rounds   I remember discussing Bray before his draft. I don't remember having an opinion either way on him!

JujuFish Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Without having read up on this thread yet: I don't like the trade, unless our intention is to tank the season. Being sellers before the season even starts? Oy.

His post was a bit over the top, but do you ever wonder why you have this same exact discussion every single time you post?

Ever wonder why it's usually only the same three people involved? You might have a point if it involved everybody, but it doesn't.
jeffismagic Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Ok, I just got a call from someone that works at One Bills Drive. Watkins had asked for a trade. Russ Brandon was responsible for bringing him in and shipping him out. There is even more that really makes this trade look bad but I will need to wait a bit on those details.

No offense, but we've gotten a ton of people with 'inside information'. I believe maybe 2 of them

Randall Flagg Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Whether one is happy with these events or not, the Bills facebook posting a graphic about how many picks we have in the 2018 draft after trading their best player at the dawn of a new season is a TERRIBLE look.

It'll be interesting come week 10 when the Bills cut the 3 guys they need for the comp pivk & then someone like Goodwin gets cut last second & the Bills don't have time to cut a 4th. Expect I'll watch this season like the AVP season way back when. Record the game, work in the woods, & ask the wife if there's any point in watching after finishing. (Aka find out that the game at least isn't a blowout or a repeat of the Browns-Bills 6-3 snow game.)

I'm 0-12 lifetime at bills games.

They need to just go all the way at this point. Hughes, Williams, McCoy, Taylor. Fire sale it. And I say this as someone who is not a proponent of tanking in football. But might as well now. How must Kyle Williams feel? We convince the dude not to retire because we plan on competing, then make our team markedly worse after the first preseason game.

You have McDermott trying to make the playoffs, Beane trying to work the future, and Russ Brandon interfering for marketing and image reasons. Toxic mix as always.

jeffismagic Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Is anybody really surprised? Russ Brandon is the common denominator. There is a solid continuity between Ralph and the Pegulas and that is Russ. Until he is fired there should be no expectations of building a winning football team or making the playoffs. It takes real skill to be consistently bad and Russ has a knack.
Taro T Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Soooooo glad I don't have Bills season tix. Glad I wasn't planning on going to any games. 2nd year in a row. Feel bad for the STHs. But, if Watkins wasn't in Beane's LT plans, it's probably better for the LT. Wonder how long it'll be before Zay Jones becomes a Ram?
jeffismagic Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Keep buying the BS. It's people like you that keep the system in place. Other towns would not accept constant losing and no accountability.
Randall Flagg Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Ah, so the Bills' on-field ineptitude is all our fault.
