Deadline Nearly Here! What is GMTM going to do?

They certainly aren't moving Vatanen at the trade deadline.

First trade. Mat Bodie from the NYR for Catenacci. Solid college and AHLer who has never gotten a look in NY. Maybe he gets one here when Kulikov and Franson get traded. Harrington called it an AHL depth deal. I think it's GMTM getting someone on the cheap to try in the NHL and I'm ok with that. I wish he had tried this months ago.

Bodie seems to be lacking something. I think it's the 2nd 't' in his first name.

He did, more than several times, his name is __________ (insert Kulikov, Franson, Gorges, Nelson)

At least Franson has some offensive contribution - he has more goals and points this season than Bogosian, Gorges, and Kulikov combined.

Those last 3 are the ones who should be sent packing -  probably impossible to get rid of though with their high salary and horrendous performances. Can they buy one of em out?     It wouldn't be anything new -  Terry Pegula spending more good money after bad. That seems to be a Pegula Hallmark - spend millions for nothing.

Lameo himself was signed during the Pegula era -  and they're STILL paying that slug, I believe.   His 6 year deal ends July 2017.   Not sure if they paid him lump sum, or 2/3rds of his contract each year.

If he's comfortable playing him at wing long term, then absolutely get some value from him before it falls to that of a decent top 6 winger.

When I think back to Murray's quote prior to picking Eich ('we picked a centre last year and we will pick a centre this year ... you have to be strong down the middle' ... or something like that) I have to think that Samson will be playing centre very soon.

This makes sense, but man, the thought that this could be the outcome makes me want to kick puppies.

Not as long as Bylsma is the coach.

Yep. Besides, we may have given DLo his shot, but we're not sure about what Okposo and Franson could do in the middle.

Have to do our homework.
