Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 A GDT from NS, with love. My first one. Let's hope for a good game and just beat these guys. Not sure about TV. GO SABRES!! Quote
nfreeman Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 That was a really sweet goal Reino put in vs. Ottawa. Quote
TheAud Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Start of 5 games in 7 days...the season can turn up or slide into oblivion this week. So goalie rotation of Lehner (@NJ 6th), Nilsson (SJ 7th), Lehner (Anaheim 9th), Lehner (@Tor 11th), Nilsson (Van 12th)? I hope DD rides the hot goalie but doesn't force Lehner into back-to-back's when Nilsson has proven so capable. Especially with 4 games in 7 days the following week as well. Quote
RonHextallsShoulderPads Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 5 games where we need to come away with at the very least 7 points. Quote
MattPie Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 That was a really sweet goal Reino put in vs. Ottawa. I watched the highlights last night to cheer me up, and damn, you're right. That's one of those plays that only a few players attempt but seems to work, the goalie starts to move with the player to "stay square" the top corner opens up. It must be incredibly hard to hit that shot otherwise more players would do it. Quote

DarthEbriate Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 New Jersey... day after the Super Bowl... New Jersey... the day after the Super Bowl. Jersey... It's a trap! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxfw-JISykE All too easy. Quote

Brawndo Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 No morning skate for Sabres. Eichel was too excited to let anyone sleep last night. Quote
LTS Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Yay.. back to hockey. I get a small reprieve around the office until March when everyone starts blathering on about NCAA basketball. Go Sabres. Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) No morning skate for Sabres. Eichel was too excited to let anyone sleep last night. Pillow fight in Jack and Sam's room! Edited February 6, 2017 by Doohickie Quote
pi2000 Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) This is the yahoo Live game of the day... http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/live-video/ Sabres coming off a convincing home win to get to 21-20-10, this is a game they typically lose, and Schneider is coming off a 32 save 5-1 W at Columbus.. he's heating up.... so... I don't like our chances. Edited February 6, 2017 by pi2000 Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 DailyFaceOff sez "Lehner (unconfirmed)" Quote
Jsixspd Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 DailyFaceOff sez "Lehner (unconfirmed)" Well, most coaches are gonna play the hot hand. Even Bylsma couldn't be that stupid to rest Lehner after a 37 save shutout, could he? The only pro coach dumb enough to do something like that that would be Yankees' Joe Girardi - but he's baseball - no worries. lol Quote

The only pro coach dumb enough to do something like that that would be Yankees' Joe Girardi - but he's baseball - no worries. lol Well........... they've got a back-to-back here: @NJ tonight, and SJS tomorrow. And as mentioned upthread, lots of games coming up (Thurs, and another back-to-back Sat and Sun). So it seems possible that Nilsson gets either tonight or tomorrow. Lehner still seems to be the obvious choice for tonight, though. Quote
pi2000 Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Lehner has been very good at home. I'd go Nillson then Lehner tomorrow. Quote
Trettioåtta Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Losing them to NJ is more costly than SJ. I play Lehner then Nilsson Quote
WildCard Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Odd. Did Nilsson play against SJ last time? You would think you would want your started up against the better team. Or maybe DD is just riding the hot hand Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Lehner confirmed as starter As a recovering Catholic, I have a mental picture of Lehner kneeling at the altar while the bishop says a blessing over him and sprinkles him with holy water. Quote
