sodbuster Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) Thank god OT is 3v3, because I'm not sure I could have handled another 5 minutes of this game at even strength. Edited February 3, 2017 by sodbuster Quote
Nitro60 Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Darn the luck. PK will have to step it up. Quote
Thorner Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 How snake-bit is Jack for assists?! Wow. Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Sabres: :w00t: Rags:   Quote
CallawaySabres Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 fuuuuuuuuckkkkkrrrrrr Don't know why but that loss stings more than any other this year Quote
MODO Hockey Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Well rip, we would have lost anyway if it went to so. Good night boys Quote
Nitro60 Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Instead of legging the puck out, with no one near you, you try to it the long pass. It failed. Eat clock, force NYR to play some defense and not change lines. Then dump the puck. That is the mental part of the game. The ensuing NYR rush lead to the goal. Quote
3putt Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Kuli has some nice wheels. But a questionable decision to chase it when Lundquist had possession and he was looking to change. The last rush became effectively a 4 on 3. Quote
Claude Balls Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Starting to hate the NHL as much as the NFL. These ticky tack penalties at crucial times are too common. Quote

Doohicksie Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Not ROR's best game Probably Kulokov's best in the Blue & Gold though. Starting to hate the NHL as much as the NFL. These ticky tack penalties at crucial times are too common. Especially when they didn't call them all game. Whatever happened to "putting the whistles away" late in a game? Quote

Whatever happened to "putting the whistles away" late in a game? I want him back next season, give him a 3 x 2 offer or something. He seems to remain being plagued by this back injury. Hope he can get back to form next year if we can resign him. Quote
Norcal Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 That ones not on Lehner. Good game. I'll take a point, two would have been better. Quote
ParkMeadow Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 Didn't follow the GD thread at all but watched entire game on NBCSN. I thought this was one of the Sabres best games of the year, despite the result. Good goaltending, adequate defense, and snake bitten on offense, shut down by the King at his best. If they played like this every night, we'd be ahead of the Bruins in the standings and this board would be blowing up! Now, if they could stop the bipolar good game / bad game, we'd be on our way ‼️ Quote
Brawndo Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 The Sabres are 1-9-2 on Thursdays this season. Quote
dudacek Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) Disappointing result but a huge improvement over the Montreal game. Skated well, consistent effort, good goaltending. Didn't get the game breaking plays from Eichel and ROR we're going to need to win those tight ones against good teams. Edited February 3, 2017 by dudacek Quote

3putt Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) They were killing a penalty. The rush WAS a 4 on 3. Fedun wasn't released until the puck was at the Sabres' blue line. The penalty was about to expire they would be 4 on 4 until a whistle. When the pass didn't connect he pressurred the puck and when Hank calmly played it by him he was stuck and went off for a change creating the 4 on 3 situation. If he needed to get off, get off and we would have been ae to match the rush. Situational awareness. That is taught at he pee wee level. Kulikov did show any and makes a few similar head scratchers a game. Turning point? No. But I think these type of plays are what DD is talking about when he preaches playing the right way. That was a high risk low reward situation. Not a DD supporter, but I think he sees this as a problem as do. Foligno, Ennis, Dlo and Bogosian are other habitual offenders. Eleven Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 I was there last night. That game was absolutely dead. Both teams. It sucked. Quote
