Sabres Fan in NS Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 I hate these guys almost as much as I hate the Bruins. So, just beat these guys. I don't care how, just win, baby. GO SABRES!! Quote
inkman Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 I think with Ennis on the cusp of returning the Sabres had to make a choice between Grant or Bailey. I think it's obvious Grant has maxed out his NHL potential while Bailey hopefullly can continue to grow.Derek Grant is an AHL playerGrant was picked up by the Leafs.Just to the Amerks Quote
darksabre Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Grant was picked up by the Leafs. He was not. That tweet is somewhat unclear. Quote
inkman Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Why do you think Grant is on waivers?Because he sucks Quote
Mustache of God Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 A little off topic to the game thread but how to waiver claims work? If a team claims Grant can they send him straight to the AHL or would have have to remain in the NHL in order for them to claim him? Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 Grant was picked up by the Leafs. Where he will put up 17 goals between now and the end of the season. Quote

That Aud Smell Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Where he will put up 17 goals between now and the end of the season. There is literally no risk of this happening. Quote
MattPie Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Bailey and DLo are both playing, making Grant unnecessary. Why? He had the puck on his stick. Re: McCabe interference: Just a joke, based on the 5-minute major he got for this similar-looking hit. I didn't know you could get a major for interference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeblqxNrcWk 07:17 BUF Jake McCabe: Interference (maj) — 5 min http://www.hockey-reference.com/boxscores/201404120BOS.html Quote

Paille touches the puck and lunges head first at McCabe who just stands his ground. 5 and a game? Not even close. Quote
Huckleberry Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Here come the buffalo sabres :D Quote
pi2000 Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 This game could put them over .500, which typically means they come up small and go a 3-4 game losing streak. Quote

It was the last game of the year (I think), the Bruins were headed to the playoffs and we weren't. If that game was being played in the middle of the season I don't think they would have called it. Thorner Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) If Grant is on waivers then who takes his spot in the lineup tonight? Tonight will be Jack's 100th game Byslma to apparently treat Reinhart as a double agent tonight: 3rd line center and top 6 winger What does that even mean? Does Gionta get half the shifts then? Carrier. Was out with the flu before today. Edited January 10, 2017 by Thorny Quote

You've nailed how I feel about tonight. I have hopes but they are being suppressed until we look like we've changed in this regard. Quote
Huckleberry Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 the only way D-Lo is playing over grant in my mind is that he can fight :p Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 Grant is an AHLer maxed out to play in the NHL. DLo is bottom-six NHLer who brings toughness but will get squeezed out of this roster when the developing wings emerge out of the AHL. Quote
Huckleberry Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 oh well, will try to watch the game a bit from work :D Quote

Deslauriers may be the worst forward to play a regular shift in the NHL. Edit: Just looked, he has the worst CF% of all skaters, both F and D, of any NHL player that has played as many minutes as he has. Edited January 10, 2017 by Randall Flagg Quote

Which stats? All three have more goals and points, and all three are around 10% better in CF% and FF%. Quote

Doohicksie Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 Next year he'll be bumped down into permanent 13th forward if he's even on the team. He's still got another year on his contract, but I'm just not sure if there's room for him next year. We'll see. Quote
