matter2003 Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Sabres not playing coming out of this break... Quote
GoPre Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Holy crap. I DVR'd the game I know what I doing tonight Watch the 3rd period. 1st and 2nd were blah. Quote
Norcal Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Holy crap. I DVR'd the game I know what I doing tonightjust skip ahead to the 8 minute mark of the second and strap in for the 3rd ???? Quote
matter2003 Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Whole new team not playing dump and Chase and using their skill set to their advantage is what I saw. About time...it took them to hit the bottom of the standings for them to realize it's not how they are going to win games?? Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Hope Laine is ok Reminds me of Soupy's hit on Umberger. I do hope that Laine is OK, but me thinks it was a clean open ice hit. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Friends and I bought a bunch of tickets (cheap on StubHub) way up in the 300s and took some of our kids. Most fun I've had in that building in a LONG time. Also, I am hoping Laine is okay. Quote
Winston Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Thanks, 3-3 it was indeed. Just rewatched and everything happened so fast. Foligno goal- Girgs goal- McCabe hit All within 37 second of gameplay. Quote
Robviously Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 mccabe cut below, above the eye and on the nose and he just said it was from laine hit Watching it again on YouTube a couple times -- that hit caught McCabe off guard as well. You could see that he realized his only chance to check Laine was right there and he even put his hands up to brace the impact. It could have just as easily been him getting hurt there. Hope Laine is OK. He's awesome. Quote
Claude Balls Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 This game could be "the game" that turns things around. Even Bylsma lost his in the second period. And I love me some Gio and Jake. Quote
Sabel79 Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 , I forgot what the start time was. Hey look, a win. Quote
Claude Balls Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 15-2-4 when they score 2 or more Wow, that's a crazy stat. Quote

Tondas Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 (edited) 5 out of 6 points in 2017. It is a Happy New Year! I can see the Umberger comparisons, but the way Laine hit the ice with a thud, it reminds me more of the McCabe hit on Paille in Boston. Edited January 7, 2017 by Tondas Quote
Claude Balls Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 That Gio goal might be one of the best this season. It was a thing of beauty. Quote
Huckleberry Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Reminds me of Soupy's hit on Umberger. I do hope that Laine is OK, but me thinks it was a clean open ice hit. McCabe is always looking for a good hit :D that 3rd period was all our, I think the jets only had like 5 shots on goal, and most came in the last 5 minutes or so. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Just got out of a movie, did I miss anything? Nuttin honey. Quote
Stoner Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Reminds me of Soupy's hit on Umberger. I do hope that Laine is OK, but me thinks it was a clean open ice hit. That McCabe or the Sabres have to defend that hit on the ice is a joke. I do not like that about the modern game. And modern might not even be the right word. When did this phenomenon of taking offense to a clean hit start? Quote
Claude Balls Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 That hit wasn't no picnic for McCabe either. Quote

No penalty for the hit and a roughing call (could have been instigator) for the taliation (can't call it retaliation since there was no tali in the first place). Keep calling the penalties like that and it MAY deter this kind of stuff in the future. Quote

SwampD Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Man, that was fun. It's amazing how much better they look when they decide to skate. It looked like they were still digesting those late night wings in the first two periods. Quote
