I’m betting that 95% of those 78% were local town/village council or school board type positions.  You should run.

I didn't mean to infer I was outraged. Just found that stat much higher than anticipated.

I'm retired. If I run, I take some Imodium.

Not for anyone that was running unopposed.  (Figure the only way that person can lose is if even he/she doesn't vote for themself; so the only way this kid's vote could POSSIBLY matter is by not voting and hoping that individual forgets to vote or decides they really don't want the office.)

The electronic ballots FINALLY don't seem to want to take issue with that.  For several years got the response from the person running the machine "uh, you didn't vote in all the elections;" "yes, that's correct;" "uhhhhhhhhhhh."  All the while that person has the classic "deer in the headlights" look on their face like they're pretty sure that isn't allowed but they're not quite sure what to do about it.

The problem with this thinking is that if enough people in your district feel the same way, the representative who won might not care about your district enough to be bothered to help it out if the need should arise. Voting always matters.

It's the same reason that voting in primaries matters.

If any of the other parties want to have a candidate receive votes, they really should run candidates.  And not simply the exact same candidate that one (or both) major parties are running.

And, considering that yours truly lives in a state that at the state level in essentially a 1 party state and also at the local level essentially a 1 party town, ALWAYS vote in the primaries.  For the most part, it's the only way to get one's "voice" heard.

No posts for 3+ hours with many of us online.

What gives?

Personally, I feel disappointed enough from the season to date that I am trying to stay somewhat even keeled.

I really enjoy Sabres hockey but too much negativity creeps into my everyday thoughts.

I want to be entertained and it takes a competitive team to do so. A competitive team means being in most games and being in the hunt for a playoff spot. If they can do this through this tough stretch, the Sabres and myself will come out the other side better.

I really don’t have any solutions other than dig down find a way to compete for 60 minutes. That includes KA perhaps finding something to create a spark and DG finding a way to get these guys chomping at the bit.

I still have a few doses of hopium left, 48 years has depleted my stockpile, but the best before date is still valid.

Clearly not, since the BS of HF Boards has been brought to us.  There are no winners in this, only losers.

Just started watching the Bungles Crows game and the Bungles are wearing their Zebra unis but with their Tiger helmets.

Looks kinda like the old Fantasy Island animal act where the trainer made a tiger ride on the back of a horse.  Except this tiger is riding on a zebra.  Exotic.

I like the white unis with the white helmets.

They aren't wearing the full on referee/zebra unis.  They're using the orange tiger helmets on the rest of the ref/zebra unis.

Happy Birthday Mittsie - 25 and entering his prime.  I anticipate a 7 year and $50M announcement soon.

Happy Birthday Powsie - all of 21 years old.  I have Scotch and underwear that are older than that.  Me thinks that many of us were / are expecting too much from such a young pup.

Heavy lipstick on Women. Especially the ones that have botox on their lips. Yuck...

Is it generational or a new trend ?  I must have missed the memo from Clinique that the circus clown look is all the rage.

If that's considered sexy, then I'm just using my Viagra solely to avoid peeing on my shoes. Total turnoff.

I know you are a retired guy like myself so I can say this with experience.

I am a sucker for pretty ladies but I keep it in perspective.  The young ladies that wear that kind of lipstick and do the botox thing are probably not interested in you either.

Yes its a newer trend, but I see older women doing it to.

Strictly observational  LOL.

If my wife dies, my next date is a fishing pole. The lack of interest is mutual.

It’s an easier transition if you start two timing with a fishing rod now.

Fishing would be fun to take up.

In addition to travel, I prefer this:
