You work for a financial news program affiliated with a national news network. But it is very easy for me to sit back here and say that. Do what you feel is right for you. Taro T Posted February 4, 2023 Report Posted February 4, 2023 1st vacation in not even sure how many years. An absolute gorgeous night. Hanging out on our hotel room's balcony. Should be perfect. But there are 2 friggin' morons shouting at the top of their lungs down in the court yard arguing about something that happened between LeBron James & Kevin Durant in either 2004 or 2007. They're only been doing this for 45 minutes so far. At least now the argument has slid to Kevin Love. (Somebody shoot me now. Please.) Quote

Since it's bloody February that should rule out Cleveland (who would vacation there from WNY in February ??). So, either LA or Miami. I think LA is over-rated as a vacation spot and too snooty for the @Taro T family. That leaves the land of the Fish. If you hear someone say that they intend to make you swim with the Fishes ... run away very fastly. 1 Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted February 5, 2023 Report Posted February 5, 2023 I've been having many medical issues for the last few months seeing specialists, etc etc There was initial concern for MS and other really bad diagnoses, brain MRI showed no lesions but cervical MRI was needed to rule out cervical lesions which are more typical in male patients. Got the MRI today and find that my C5-C7 discs are herniated into my spinal cord, this is most likely causing all of these symptoms mimicking MS. Over the last week, I've been unable to even hold my coffee due to spasms in my arms and other weird symptoms. I may end up having to go the Jack Eichel route of ADR in the cervical area, but won't know until I see the neurosurgeon, it's a relief that the symptoms are tangible with a structural abnormality and not a neuro degenerative disease, but this still sucks to have this before the age of 40. 5 Quote

Day-um. On the bright side, you now know it isn't some degenerative disease and with your background & connections any work you need done will be by somebody you will know is top notch. And, there're gonna have to shave your head to fix that, right? Whoo, hoo, there's hope yet. 😉 Quote

My connections are minimal haha, and it's an anterior approach into the neck so my dirty locks can stay intact. 1 Quote

So sad to hear this news, my friend. Seems like you are in good hands, but just in case you know who did Johnny Boy's surgery (insert winkie - winkie thingie here). Take good care and listen to the damn doctors. Thoughts and Prayers sent your way and I will continue to do so. Quote

To be fair, I have lived a pretty crazy life for my age, so these breakdowns are semi expected 😂 Quote

I appreciate the thoughts and prayers. Quote

Ugh. Good luck, brother. And get some good books. Time spent in specialists’ waiting rooms is criminally long and boring. The only way to get through it is to not care that you are just sitting and reading. Quote

Crosswords, too, for me, but not everyone loves those. I've spent a LOT of time in hospital rooms, and having a good mental activity (reading, crosswords, whatever) is a big help. The hospital TV is usually not the answer unless you like lots of ads and reruns of Quincy. Edited February 5, 2023 by Eleven Quote

Maybe take it to your county (?) board of elections, the State AG, or a respectable media outlet (rules out Fox News). That being said, not an entirely uncommon name. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 I still think my bidet was one of the best purchases I've ever made... Heated seat, heated water. Built in dryer. Saves my neck pain on wiping 😂😂😂 Quote
shrader Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 I'm having a fence put in and 811 came out today to mark all the underground lines in my yard. I know exactly where my power line is due to previous work and whoever came out marked it wrong. Thank god I do know where it is because the fence workers (and me too) would have been in for a very rude awakening if they dug based on these markings. Quote

I work in the Powerline industry and have seen this once in a while. We had gas line markings near where our pole was going so we excavated with a vacuum truck to find the gas line first and the dig accordingly. We dug down to the bedrock (7’ down) in every direction and never found a gas line. The quality of utility locates has gone down in Ontario since they’ve allowed one contractor to locate all of the utilities. They run the same equipment and do decent locates most of the time but lack common sense and utility background. When a utility used to provide their own locates, they had a grasp of where their plant is and knowledge of utility standards and practices for the initial installations. Quote

The lack of common sense really sums it up. The red line (power) drawn on my grass connecting my electric meter to a time Warner cable box is a real head scratcher. 1 Quote

Taro T Posted February 14, 2023 Report Posted February 14, 2023 Guess there is an active shooter on Michigan State's campus right now. Supposedly a couple of people are dead. 1 Quote
Taro T Posted February 15, 2023 Report Posted February 15, 2023 3 dead at MSU. The shooter was cornered around midnight and killed himself. If you're inclined to do so, say a prayer for the others he wounded. Quote
