My ankle is all bruised and swollen since I got hacked in floor hockey last week. Still bruised and swollen. I can walk on it, but should I be worried? Hurt to walk on it the first few days, but not since

Probably just a nasty bone bruise. I took a slapshot to the ankle once and it was a lot like you described. I went to Urgent Care anyways just incase of a hairline fracture. No breaks, but good to know it just needed some time and tlc. They gave me crutches, too.. didn't really use 'em. 

 

So yeah, snap a couple xrays at your local UC if you can for peace of mind.

I know that when I encounter one of life's crazy circumstances, the first thought that comes to mind is what Mike Rowe (or any other "celebrity") would think.  It's gotten me through many tough spots.

 

I know I had to google him and still have only a very vague idea of who he is.

Thanks Josie, was really hoping I wasn't doing more damage to it or something but after your description yeah I think it's just a bone bruise too

I'm with you there. I was ok with Dirty Jobs back in like... the mid 2000s... but meh. 

 

Nah, he flies economy whenever possible. Depends on the company he's with at the time. I'd say the majority of his flights are economy, which sucks for long hauls to Japan or Australia. The last few years he's flown a bit less than he used to (man's 70 years old, that much traveling really takes a toll, and those platinum mega super statuses don't stick) and he gets bumped from time to time. 

 

:lol:  Yeah, cuz Rowe's celeb status surely doesn't influence his treatment upon traveling at all. 

 

Mike Rowe was great on QVC.

 

I agree to a degree with Mike Rowe on things (like too many people go to college with no plan and end up with jobs that don't (or shouldn't) require a degree), but otherwise he's hit or miss. One point in his favor is the hilarity of posts on FB about how "Mike Rowe tells liberals what for" and "Mike Rowe blasts Republicans on jobs", sometimes for the same post by him.

I had sushi today.

 

It's still the most overrated food on the planet! I wish I went salad instead. Or a nice shrimp Cesar wrap. Or wings, or basically anything other than sushi.

I like sushi. It tastes good to me.

 

I just can't do it for lunch since in order to feel "full" I need to have like 20 pieces and it ends up costing a small fortune. :wallbash:

I have the same problem with sushi that I have with wings. I love both, but the volume I require is typically cost prohibitive.

Anyone know how to increase the resolution of a pdf?

Like from an existing pdf? I think you'd have to have the source document for the pdf. Meaning...whatever file was used to "print" the pdf. I think once the document is in pdf form it just is what it is.

It's probably not possible as images in PDFs are just bitmaps. Have the sender scan the pornography in higher quality mode to start.

Oof. You can always reduce, blowing it up will just give you a fuzzy/pixelly mess unless it was decent res to start with. 

 

As the others above say, ask the pornographer to make it at 250-300 DPI, they probably made it at 72 which is fine for web titty viewing, but you can't get any good detail. 

 

The other option is to pop it into photoshop, go to Image> image size > resolution and pop in your number. It'll embiggen, but it might not be pretty. I've had ok luck making a document the size I want (say, 8x10 300 dpi) and bringing in the PDF, then making it a smart object and free transforming it to the doc boundaries.

This is a perfectly cromulent answer.

 

What are you trying to get out of it? Because as others have said, your resolution is only as good as the initial photograph, which is all a pdf is. If you just want to be able to read something that's un-readable, some PDF program's have a PDF-to-text option that can port it into a word doc. The computer might be able to read some stuff that you can't, though its far from perfect.
