Doohickie Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Always fun waking up to the discordant serenade of a tornado siren. Such is life in Texas. I obviously survived. Quote

Stoner Posted March 10 Author Report Posted March 10 Let's see. Total eclipse Part Deux. A total lunar eclipse on Thursday night into Friday morning. A blood moon! Let's check the weather. Clear tonight. Clear tomorrow night. Partly cloudy Wednesday night... *****. It's uncanny. @That Aud Smell Not sure why the mention, Smell, except I feel you understand me. Certainly more than @Doohicksie does. 1 1 Quote

You're a winner if you see it. Full disclosure: I have been playing this young man's (well, his band's) record non-stop the past few weeks. His rendition in this video is a stripped down, acoustic version of the song from the LP. He's also the owner/operator of Remedy House on Buffalo's lower west side. He gives me (some (new)) hope for this tired old town. Edited March 10 by That Aud Smell Quote

Doohickie Posted Thursday at 02:37 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:37 PM Just got a text from my son. His wife is "in the labor room. She was leaking this morning. Dr's office told us to go" If the baby is born now, it's six weeks early. Please keep them in your thoughts. 1 1 Quote

She was leaking this morning. Dr's office told us to go" If the baby is born now, it's six weeks early. Please keep them in your thoughts. Update: Thursday, her water broke... or started to leak anyway. They went to the hospital. Her blood pressure was high so they took care of that. She was dilated 1 cm. They decided to keep her in the hospital. In the afternoon/evening she started having contractions and got to 3 cm and they tried to slow them down; as long as baby and mama are not in distress, it's better to let the baby develop as long as possible in utero. They're giving her steroids (to accelerate baby's lung development), antibiotics (for both mom and baby) and a lot of IV fluids (to allow her to replace the amniotic fluid that's been lost). They're closely monitoring blood pressure looking for any signs of infection. My son texted this evening that the contractions were picking up again this evening, but later texted that they were Braxton Hicks (false) contractions. They estimate the baby is already over 5 pounds, so that's a positive. The doctor said if they can get even a few more days before baby is born, it would greatly improve the baby's health at birth. So yeah. Wait. And hope and pray for the best. Edited Saturday at 04:13 AM by Doohickie 1 Quote
