Doesn't D4rk rock one of those at times?

Ooh, could be. But it wasn't him (at least I'm fairly sure). Looked like a local since he was hanging out in one of the booths. I was going to complement him, but he was having a conversation and I didn't want to be rude.

When our four fathers gathered with the pilgrims and indians to sign the constitution and name the letters of the alphabet, why did they go with something so complex for W? It’s not even right. If they needed to go that route, it should have been double V.

You have four fathers?  How does that work?

Are you already drinking this morning?

That's the part of the post you decided to question?

I was chasing a toddler around and stopping him from destroying everything.  I think that answers the second question.

It's been a good while since he visited. His list of visitors has an intriguing name.

Right off the top, hope he's OK.

Wonder if the criticism of mods finally reached a breaking point.

In a brief text message exchange - he is fine, but very busy with a lot going on.  Plans to return when able, but no timeline established.

So yesterday was election day. Just saw a news story.

Among the several Western NY counties, there were a total of 766 contests.

78 % of these contests...were UNCONTESTED.  That's sad.

Not to race down the politico rabbit hole ... there's a Club for that ... did you vote?

I’m betting that 95% of those 78% were local town/village council or school board type positions.  You should run.

Not for anyone that was running unopposed.  (Figure the only way that person can lose is if even he/she doesn't vote for themself; so the only way this kid's vote could POSSIBLY matter is by not voting and hoping that individual forgets to vote or decides they really don't want the office.)

The electronic ballots FINALLY don't seem to want to take issue with that.  For several years got the response from the person running the machine "uh, you didn't vote in all the elections;" "yes, that's correct;" "uhhhhhhhhhhh."  All the while that person has the classic "deer in the headlights" look on their face like they're pretty sure that isn't allowed but they're not quite sure what to do about it.

Not if the incumbents are doing a good job and everyone is happy with them.

I get that.

My point was that the bigger issue is voters are apathetic.

of course, it's hard to get excited and go do your part with so many running unopposed.  More need to run too.  Most people have so much baggage that they would never pass the vetting process.  That said, you guys ended up with the guy you have now and the guy before and the guy before that ... no one has ever been a saint who has become President.  Nor PM here in Canada.  Our guy is terrible and any of the other guys are just as terrible.

We better not give the mods something to do.
