Doohicksie Posted December 16, 2016 Report Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey. Considering that he pretty much came up during the tank and he hasn't let it ruin his development as a player, and is becoming a key member of the team, is there *anyone* on this team that better exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication? Stoner Posted December 16, 2016 Report Posted December 16, 2016 I wish sportsmanship was left to the Lady Byng. I don't think Marcus is a good fit for this, but I believe the hockey writers from each NHL city have to nominate someone. It led to the wonky choice of ROR last year. Dedication, yes, but what did he overcome other than a self-inflicted injury? Quote
North Buffalo Posted December 16, 2016 Report Posted December 16, 2016 UsOk make a combined award. Quote

Stoner Posted December 16, 2016 Report Posted December 16, 2016 If Lehner ends up having a good season, he might be a good choice. He has overcome the ankle injury and certainly dedicated himself last summer to getting in great shape, losing weight etc. Is it March already? Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 7, 2017 Author Report Posted January 7, 2017 After his play on the top line, I have to reiterate: I think Marcus deserves it. Quote

Claude Balls Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 Yeah, Marcus has been re-energized since being put on the first line. He never quits and always plays at full speed. He deserves it. Quote
Tondas Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 What's Marcus' next contract gonna be? 3-4 mil? More? Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 8, 2017 Author Report Posted January 8, 2017 Probably not more than that, unless he manages to glue himself to Jack's hip. I still see him as bottom six talent that can handle some occasional top six duty. Quote
Kristian Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 After his play on the top line, I have to reiterate: I think Marcus deserves it. I love the way he skates lately, not only does it make him a pest on the forecheck, it also helps his offensive game immensely as he gets a lot more opportunities now. Foligno on a breakaway? When was the last time that happened? Quote
Eleven Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 What's Marcus' next contract gonna be? 3-4 mil? More? Don't get me started. I'm trying to have a nice Sunday here. Quote

pi2000 Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 What's Marcus' next contract gonna be? 3-4 mil? More? Depends what the Golden Knights are willing to pay him. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 It occurs to me that Foligno is becoming everything I ever dreamed Stafford would be. Quote
Taro T Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 It occurs to me that Foligno is becoming everything I ever dreamed Stafford would be. You dreamed Stafford would become a 15 gpy player? Quote
Drunkard Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) You dreamed Stafford would become a 15 gpy player? 15 goals is a lot for a DB coached team. I lost my conversion charts but I think that's roughly the equivalent of 25 goals for a player with a competent NHL coach. Edited January 10, 2017 by Drunkard Quote
