WildCard Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Simple enough, but I thought a thread would be fun. Can anyone tell me where Nylander will play next year? I see he has 5-11-16 in 25gp so far this season Quote
inkman Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 I'd be shocked if he got more than 20 games in Buffalo next year unless he pours it on the last half. He had a ton of growing to do, both physically and game wise. Quote
Brawndo Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Let's see what he does in The World Juniors and afterwards prior to making that call Quote
Randall Flagg Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Probably Rochester again? His bro is probably his closest comparable, and played two full post-draft seasons before joining the NHL. Alex might be a little behind physically, too. Willy's kinda jacked Quote
Ogre Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 I love the optimism around here. He will be a decent player one day. Didn't you guys see him get squeezed out all over the ice tonight? If his body can catch up we'll have a good one. Quote
beerme1 Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 I haven't seen him since he was here. I am expecting him to grow and trust that his brother says he's better than he is. The lineage is strong and he is fast and has the hands to go with it. I think his time in Roch was no doubt given with a directive much like Sam was. Don't worry about goals or points worry about this... get to the gym etc. I think Nylander is going to provide a far bigger impact than Sam. Just my thoughts. Quote
Huckleberry Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 I think the kid will be ahead of his peers by playing in the AHL, but he has a lot bulking up to do. Quote

Why rush the kid? Quote
French Collection Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 I'm excited to watch Sweden in the World Juniors to see what we have in Nylander and Asplund. Success there is not always indicative of NHL success, but, the confidence gained can be huge. I haven't seen Nylander play other than highlight clips. A full year in the AHL and work in the gym will get him closer. He'll be a bubble guy at camp next year. Quote
