I'm reasonably confident a game between the Kings and wannabe 2000 Devils would put me to sleep if I gave it my full attention. Luckily, I still have grading to do.

Just give everybody a B.

I just looked, the Kings haven't beaten us in Buffalo since 2003, we're 9-1 in the last 10 games against them here

This is like Rob Ray telling us how aweful a teams PP unit is 15 seconds before they score. It's uncanny...

I would still like to believe playoffs are not a pipe-dream yet so 1 point would be a colossal failure in my book

Yep. Though there are no "must-win out of conference games in December," this one would be very big. They're well rested, as healthy as they've been all year, at home against a team that doesn't play well in this barn. Get up early, and this could be fun.

This is the type of game the Sabres win while those more important games vs. division and conference opponents are lost.

Well, that's what this season was SUPPOSED to be. Winning the games they're supposed to and even a few (enough?) of the ones they aren't supposed to sneak into the playoffs. Too many supposed to's that were lost w/ Eichel out. Need to make sure they win 'em w/ him back.

Yep. If they win, the "tough stretch" that held the Caps twice, Rangers, Oilers, Bruins, and Kings would have us at 3-2-1, which we'd all have signed up for before it started.

And we'd likely be further behind the wild card spot than we were to start, because we beat all of the teams that aren't in our conference or right in front of us, and lost every game against teams in the WC spot when we played them (Caps both times and Bruins)

Agree. We got off to a good start with Jack back in beating Ottawa and the Rags, but we lost that ground by losing to the Bruins and the Caps twice since. And even though he's in the lineup again, I don't think he's really "back" in the truest sense of the word.

Saw something to this effect on Twitter today - hafta agree.

The Metro is absolutely fierce with the ascension of the Blue Jackets and the Flyers winning a lot recently.

I think local blackouts apply, but if posters outside of Western New York and Los Angeles don't have cable and want to see the game, this should work.
