JJFIVEOH Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 No, 78-79 was the last year of a best of three opening round. In 81-82 they brought in the divisional format that treated the Sabres oh-so-well for lo those many years (until 93-94). Ah OK, I was referring to the latter, the 1v16,2v15,3v14 format. Quote

Stoner Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 Lot of air miles in that series lol They played again in the first round the next season. Sabres swept, including a Game 1 overtime win at the Aud. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 Anyone catch the commercial at the 40 minute mark? "You, you friends, and your Johnson" "You, your girl, and your Johnson" :w00t: Quote

Stoner Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 Game- and series-winning goal comes out of the commercial break at 1:32:25. Perreault, on a line with Rick Martin and Ric Seiling, scores on a slapper from the top of the right circle. (The Connection was broken up before the season when Scotty traded Rene Robert to Colorado for John Van Boxmeer.) Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted December 8, 2016 Report Posted December 8, 2016 I was not born and it's amazing to see.... I watched it all... Only one ref, the goalie equipment, the fierceness of the game, totally different than what you see now. I think the players are better now especially with equipment, but man, that's just fun hockey to watch Quote
