I just checked even strength goals. We're last in the league with 20, Rangers lead the way with 57

 

Yea, that's looking like a really disappointing class for us. But two things I think contributed: 1) was a pretty weak draft overall, and 2) that was Murray's first draft with the team, and trying to install his evaluation system mid-stream probably led to some issues with identifying the right players. Though I'm fairly unhappy with Murray at the moment, I'm willing to give him a pass on that, especially since our mid-round picks look pretty good the last two drafts.

Absolutely no sense of urgency. If a few players weren't on their game, then they are slacking. When the entire team looks like game in and game out, it's on the coach. Bylsma needs to go before this starts spiraling out of control. I don't know who to bring in, but I'm sure management has a better handle in that than I would.

Naturally I'd prefer a Laine-like winger or an Ekblad-like Dman...but the thought of the center spine we could run with another top-6 caliber center isn't exactly displeasing.

These are the games that make an Ebriate fall off the proverbial speeder bike. And yet -- if Bishop doesn't make the amazing caught-out-of-net save and we don't have a last-minute turnover in the 2nd period... it's probably a one-goal game right now. Or even tied...

 

Draft-wise: adding a top-pairing potential D would be really good to have in the lineup in 2 years. But for me it's too early to start looking ahead to the draft. Always in motion the future is.
