Randall Flagg Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I don't want Dan to be here long term, and I don' tthink he will be. But I'm getting infinitesimally further from "Can't fire him yet, because there's no one available" each game. Towards, "hard to imagine someone else could get less possession and even strength scoring from this team" Quote
Eleven Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 No way. We started losing as soon as the forwards left the D alone in our zone. That was Lindy's trademark. As it should be, 3-0 up in the third. This is the NHL. It's not beer league. Quote
LTS Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Yeah, tonight can't happen.... I wanna see a coach with some balls, that ain't DD Tonight did happen and it had nothing to do with the coach. Two more months of this and that '?' is coming down Delusional Lindy would have won this game. Period. Lindy would have had two minutes for beating the referee about the head with a stick ruining him forever. Ted Nolan would have won that game Seriously delusional. Quote

ubkev Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Tonight did happen and it had nothing to do with the coach. Hello Mrs. Byslma. Nice to see you. Danny did not have a sound approach to the 3rd period or overtime tonight. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I have never witnessed the Buffalo Sabres under Dan Bylsma play well in the 3v3 overtime. They always appear lost. That is coaching straight up. Quote

Jsixspd Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 More stats - Bogosian and Gorges have ZERO points combined thru 5 games. Look at Montreal's D thru 6 games - Shea Weber - 7 pts, Petry 4 pts, Markov 3 pts, Emelin - 2 pts, Beaulieu, 2 pts Pateryn - 1 pt. 19 pts totalBuffalo - it's just Risto 5, and McCabe - 1 for a total of 6 pts. The Rest of D - zero pts after 5 games. On a good team, the top d-men make a contribution offensively to help carry the load. In Buffalo, however, Gorges and Bogosian are a load, plain and simple. Randall Flagg Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Ristolainen has six points, fwiw Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 DId I say they had never won? I said they never play well. In that series jack Eichel gets a breakaway. No sustained zone pressure or anything. Just a good dump up ice to Jack. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I miss Jack  sorry (not sorry): Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 You can stuff your sorries in a sack, mister! Quote
Stoner Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Bylsma wins in Pittsburgh without Crosby and Malkin. He can't win in Buffalo without Eichel and Kane. Maybe the thread-starter put the wrong name in the title? Quote

Randall Flagg Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 FWIW, I've read it stated as fact on the Penguins forum that Dan finished 2009 still using Therrien's system for the run at the end of the season and the cup run. Not that I like anything about Therrien. Quote
MattPie Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Thought: Like Nolan was a coach stuck in the 90s in terms of style, HCHDDB is a coach stuck in the late 00s. The league seems to be shifting, and he's not keeping up. UNless this is some grand plan, which I put at "unlikely". Quote

Maybe the thread-starter put the wrong name in the title? Who do you suggest I put in that title? Every single complaint we have about this guy was raised in GODD's initial DD thread prior to even hiring him because Pens fans bitched for years about the same things we're seeing now Edited October 26, 2016 by WildCard Quote
