Huckleberry Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Nice win! Lehner was a beast, mattys best game in a long time, larsson did great, 4 points for ror, 3 for risto, 2 goals by gionta. God feels good to be a Sabre!! :worthy: Sure worth staying up until 04.00 am for :D Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) Fire the coach!!! Fire up the tank!!!!!!!! Burn all the old guys at the stake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...wrong thread? I have no reservations about stating my opposition to the coach even in the face of a blowout victory :) (I will also note I didn't put any blame on Bylsma for Thursday). bunomatic Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Love me the way Lehner hacks and wacks in that crease. If they come into your crib give them something to remember you by. Quote
MODO Hockey Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Sure worth staying up until 04.00 am for :D Indeed :D Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 1) The Sabres have made some great trades over the years, getting Drury, Briere, Hasek, and Satan come quickly to mind, but ROR is simply an awesome hockey player. 2) welcome back to the NHL Matt Moulson 3) Cody Franson is a disaster on skates. 4) Doesn't Edm know not to poke the Bear? darksabre Posted October 17, 2016 Author Report Posted October 17, 2016 I'm glad we made it through that game without Lucic hurting anyone. Quote
Brawndo Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Draisiatl over Risto for the third star, Homers Quote
BetterDays06 Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 4 points for O'Reilly and 3 points for Risto, very impressive. Even more impressive was 2 goals by the captain. Gmtm deserves a medal for trading for ROR and signing Okposo, they are so good Quote
3putt Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 McCabe is growing into a solid top 4 possibly a top 2. Larsson doing his job (if he could just get a shot off), Fasching looking the part. Okposo and Kulikov are nice additions (though not fast Thorny). They can weather the storm if they play this type of game consistently. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Larsson with 20:09... Second among our forwards to O'Reilly's 20:32. Bylsma can learn to lean on the Johan more, freeing O'Reilly for offense. Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Maroon, Lucic, Kassian, they got a goon on every line, its a bit much :p Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 I thought Eichel outplayed McDavid tonight. Quote
3putt Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 I thought Eichel outplayed McDavid tonight. It's funny you didn't notice Eichel that much. Quote
Hoss Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 I've rethought the Fowler trade: acquire him and keep Kulikov on the third line. McCabe has impressed me and I think he's definitely worthy of a second-line spot going forward. Protect Risto, McCabe and Fowler without hesitation. If Kulikov ends up having a great year then protect Risto, McCabe, Fowler, Kulikov, O'Reilly, Okposo, Kane and one other forward (Larsson, Girgensons, Foligno, Ennis in that conversation). Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 It's funny you didn't notice Eichel that much. It's like he wasn't even there and still outplayed McDavid (thank you Josh Gorges). Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) Like PHam was saying, Gorges deserves a TON of credit for this game. That might hurt some here to say that. Edited October 17, 2016 by JJFIVEOH Quote

Maybe his best as a Sabre? Bogo must be protected he has a NMC. Kulikov can't be protected unless extended before the season ends because he is a UFA. By the way, can a Sabres, just once, knock Lucic into next week? Edited October 17, 2016 by GASabresIUFAN Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Bogo must be protected he has a NMC. Kulikov can't be protected unless extended before the season ends because he is a UFA. Murray had the option not to honor it, and last I knew, we don't know whether he exercised that option. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Murray had the option not to honor it, and last I knew, we don't know whether he exercised that option. Just because a player waived the clause to allow a trade to one team doesn't void the clause permenantly. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Just because a player waived the clause to allow a trade to one team doesn't void the clause permenantly. We had a huge offseason discussion on this. If a team acquires a player with a NMC that hasn't kicked in yet, the team is not required to honor the NMC. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Larsson is Quickly becoming my favourite on this team. If he could pot a few more goals it would sure make him a more valuable player. Hope they come Quote
