3putt Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 Craig,Craig,Craig!!! And without Martin we would never had that guy down in the reds shouting "Hit em with your purse Rick." A classic Aud memory. Quote
dudacek Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 Danny Gare LED THE LEAGUE in goals. I'm just saying. Quote
Neo Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) Ah, give me one last night in the Aud .... we weren't spectators, we were part of a living, breathing, organism ... broiling insides wrapped in a labyrinthine exoskeleton of hallways, ramps and dead ends. An arena so intimate you could pick out friends and neighbors section to section. Nooks, crannies, inclines, and frustrating inconsistencies. You didn't go to the Aud and forget about it when the game started. You interacted with the building, itself, all night long. How many of us laid hands on the cold, stone, facade? Do other buildings beg to be touched? AND you had your heroes on the ice! Sigh ... one more time. Update! Mogilny ties it up! Edited October 19, 2016 by N'eo Quote
Hoss Posted October 19, 2016 Author Report Posted October 19, 2016 This one might take a while. Anybody got an idea for how to end it fairly? Maybe first to XX votes? Quote
Neo Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 First to lead by two ... with a time limit followed by man against man for those tied or within one? 12 hours? Your awesome thread! Quote

3putt Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Yeah 24 hours is sufficient. And there seems to be a niche group playing along. Quote
Hoss Posted October 19, 2016 Author Report Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Okay it's officially dying when I wake up tomorrow then, I guess. If it's tied the first time I enter the thread and it isn't tied will determine the winner. From now on I'll make it 24 hours. Edited October 19, 2016 by Hoss Quote
North Buffalo Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Gil best skater Sabres ever had... he would still be dominant in today's game while smoking cigs Dom Patty loved Alex... Phil is 4B As far as straight D, gotta be Shoeny though... followed by Hajt Best checking forward Rammer Gare was a beneficiary of the French Connection at the beginning... back when goalies had to wear reasonable pads. Could you imagine the goal scoring if they wore similar gear from the 70s plus only the mask. Luce shot the puck over top of the net too often on breakaways. Quote

TheAud Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Why are people voting Mogilny over Martin? Alex had one dominant season. Rico had four. And his all-time Sabre numbers are far superior. This point and N'eo's had me change my vote to Martin from Mogilny Quote
ubkev Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 If there's a tie, the tie breaker should be whoever scored the most goals in a single season. Quote
3putt Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 You're a late sleeper. Yeah slacker. Rise and shine I have to get to Dennys for my oatmeal and AARP discount Quote
Hoss Posted October 19, 2016 Author Report Posted October 19, 2016 And, to my surprise, Rick Martin came back and won it. Poll editing now. I have a screenshot of the results if anybody would like to see them. Quote
Eleven Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Ok, that makes me ask why Schoeny isn't a choice for fifth. I'm writing him in. I know, some might think Rammer was a better D-man, but Schoeny captained the team to the Cup finals. Quote
Hoss Posted October 19, 2016 Author Report Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) I added Schoenfield. He was in the last poll but didn't get many votes. There are many worthy candidates at this point which makes it tough, because then it'll take longer to separate and get a definitive answer. I would also vote Schoenfield over Ramsey with the little I know. If more people would actually comment about who and why they think players should get more votes it would help. N'eo has been very helpful. Speaking of: any particular reason the team's second-leading scorer (Andreychuk) doesn't get more love? A beast on the power play. Edited October 19, 2016 by Hoss Quote

Two, Andreychuk's going to get some soon, even if it's only me. Three, I'll stay with Wowie at this juncture. Good for Rico ... Must've been a flurry for him since I last checked in earlier this morning. Dudacek was compelling. Edited October 19, 2016 by N'eo Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Just wondering ... ... do any current Sabres make the cut? ROR? Maybe at 50(ish). Quote
Hoss Posted October 19, 2016 Author Report Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) For transparency's sake, this is what I saw when I got on this morning and ended the poll: Also: it's time to give Dom a statue. And RJ. Edited October 19, 2016 by Hoss Quote
Weave Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Rammer gets my vote this time. Mogilny was much more entertaining, but Ramsey was a do it all rock for just short of ever. All Star games. Norris consideration during a time that included Robinson, Langway, Bourque, and Coffey. And class act. Oh, and have we mentioned Miracle on Ice? Quote

And Rick. OK thats crap Alex had 9 votes as of 5 was working overnite so someone is manipulating your numbers. Quote
Sabel79 Posted October 19, 2016 Report Posted October 19, 2016 Voted Housley for third, can't then not vote for him again for fourth. Quote
