And you don't see how this response is far better than a negative reaction?  The reaction by itself means "that's wrong" (though how a suggestion can be wrong is beyond me).  By replying, you're not only letting people know why you feel negatively toward the post, but you're also giving your subjective reasons for why other people might not want to take up the suggestion. It's beneficial to everyone.

Do you get this upset if someone gives you a thumbs up with no comment?

If I'm coming off as upset, then I'm just poor at communicating (which is probably news to no one).

The Fast and the Furious movies ranked:

4, 1, 5, 6, 7, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10.

Hobbs & Shaw was fun, but I won't rank it among them. If I had, it's probably after 7.

Fast X was not good. I can't fully decide if it was better or worse than 9 yet.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was fun. Probably my favorite Marvel movie since Endgame (which, admittedly, isn't saying a ton).

It's so much more fun when they're just doing their own movie and not trying to advance the wider MCU storyline.  That movie also gives me a lot of hope for DC.  The 2nd movie was good, but I thought they went a bit too overboard on the humor (aka. Drax).  Gunn definitely took his foot off that gas pedal in this one and found a much better balance.

On a related note, I randomly turned on the A-Team movie this weekend.  It was hilarious to hear an exact copy of his Rocket voice coming from Bradley Cooper.

The A-team movie.  Hated by the critics, flop at the box office...but I liked it.  Is it a cinematic masterpiece? 100% faithful to the series? No, but to me it was a good, fun 2 hours watching it.  Don't understand the hate that many have for it.

Starting watching Succession, I know, it been out for 4 seasons.   I am on Season 1, episode 6.

I like it but the Mrs is finding it hard to like any of the characters in the family.

That’s on my watch list. Haven’t started it yet.

So is Ozark.

So is House of the Dragon.

Just watched Devil in Ohio. It was good. Not great.

Ozark was very good but dark.  Dark plot and dark camera work.

I mentioned this movie not two days ago. I think it's really good, dare I say, excellent (for what it is.) Way better than I was expecting.

Plus, Jessica Biel is hot.

It's dumb and fun and that's all it's gotta be!

‘Air - a story of greatness’ was entertaining.  Currently streaming on Amazon Prime.  Matt Damon, playing Sonny Vacarro and Viola Davis, as Delores Jordan were both excellent.  Classic soundtrack of the 80’s.  Ben Affleck plays a caricature of Phil Knight.  Interesting story about the inter workings of Nike which has been seen as just a running shoe company before signing Jordan to a sneaker deal.  Air is the first project from Afflecks and Damon’s production company Artists Equity.

I saw it in theaters originally, but honestly, I didn’t remember just about a single thing from it. I will say that it was decent enough on free tv.

I just saw Fast X.  It certainly wasn't great, and you are probably a more discriminating viewer than I am, but I find all of them more or less the same level of "stupid but entertaining with great action sequences."  I'm also interested in the increasing number of appearances by major actors/actresses.

That's by design. None of them have redeeming qualities. If you like someone now, just wait a few episodes.

I really just want them to race cars lol. They basically stopped that with Fast 5.

That is what I’m telling her.   She likes uplifting stories about families that care for each other.   I’ll be watching it alone, it’s not her cup of tea.

Fast 10 was enjoyable garbage. It helps that they are parodying themselves at this point, they did a good job showing their self-awareness, at times, at least.

Wick 4 still the best of 2023 easily

John Wick: Chapter 4

Guardians 3

Dungeons & Dragons

Ant-Man 3

Fast X

Renfield

65

Plane

Cocaine Bear

I’m 2 episodes in with Sucession. The only one I semi like is the wife of Logan, and the “new nephew” character. No I don’t have all the names memorized yet 😂

Good show so far

My wife watched the whole thing. I dipped in every once in a while. I liked it. I'll watch the series finale next week.

Much of it was filmed were I work. I can't describe just how creepy it was to show up on a Saturday to pick up something I had forgotten the day before, and see the entire building turn into ATN. The level of detail was mind-blowing: pictures on the walls, graphics, even our IP phones had the ATN logo on them. Pretty cool, if a little unnerving.

We are looking to cut cable and go to streaming only.

Is it easy to subscribe for a month and then cancel once you have viewed a certain series/show?

Depends what streaming service you are talking about.

I personally, I still pay for spectrum Internet, and spectrum tv service. But I bought Roku devices and attached them to my tv’s. So everything is streaming through that. I have a spectrum app on the Roku device and that’s how I get my TV stations including MSG. So yes in theory I cut the cord and got rid of the spectrum cable box. Just not the TV service or Internet.

If you have multiple credit cards, dig down deep into their websites for 'deals' on streaming services.  I know our Amex card had some, and one of our other cards did also...they have stuff like "buy a full year of Peackock and get a credit on your statement for 50% back", and there was a deal for Paramount like that too, and one for HBO max late last year (it was for a statement credit each month for 3 straight months.)

It shouldn't have to be that complicated, but oh well. If you subrscibe to many of them for a full year you can get a discount on some, and then a further discount on top of that with discount codes or credit card deals on top of that if you catch it at the right time.

Ok thanks.

If we want to get Yellowstone and the spin-offs, can we subscribe to Paramount+ for a month, stream everything we want and then cancel the subscription after that month?

Shoresy is available on our cable package but I would have to subscribe to Crave tv to get it.

My question is more about getting in and out of these streaming companies. There are only a few shows we are interested in outside of Netflix and Amazon, which we already have.

I will be getting Sportsnet Now to get all of the hockey in the fall.

I will subscribe to TSN during the World Juniors.

Pretty sure HULU gets you both of those.

ROKU is a great way to go. I’ve said it before, but I think it is the best environment to watch tv in. Way better than Samsung smart tv (I’ve never used a fire stick.) Instead of going to each app looking for something, you just search in the ROKU Home Screen and it will give you all the options to view it.
