Thorner Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 When you watch Star Wars, what order do you watch them in? IMO you gotta go order of release. There are so many call backs to themes and motifs in the later movies to things that happen in the OT - to me the original moments deserve to be witnessed first, have their full weight attributed to them. A New Hope first just feels right. Quote

nfreeman Posted May 5, 2021 Report Posted May 5, 2021 My wife and I have been watching "Mare of Easttown" on HBO. Excellent crime drama set in a blue-collar small town in PA. So far I'll give it a solid A-minus. 1 Quote

Saw a few episodes on a flight, it was awesome. Sopranos prequel series coming out, same creator from the original Sopranos. 2 Quote

Indabuff Posted July 3, 2021 Report Posted July 3, 2021 Rewatching Trailer Park Boys. I don't think I've ever giggled so much at a show. Bubbles is the best. Quote
nfreeman Posted July 3, 2021 Report Posted July 3, 2021 My wife and I watched “No Sudden Moves”, the new Stephen Soderbergh HBO movie with a bunch of big names in the cast. Pretty disappointing. I give it a C-plus. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted July 3, 2021 Author Report Posted July 3, 2021 (edited) Not sure, but it won't be Hard Knocks featuring (yet again) the football team from Dallas. If they really want to do something worth while on that show I suggest using one of the football sides from Manchester, maybe both. Can you imagine the Hard Knocks between Man C and Man U? Awesome!! Hoss Posted July 3, 2021 Report Posted July 3, 2021 (edited) Rewatching The Leftovers again which I highly recommend if you’ve got HBO. It’s a little different from your typical drama with some simple supernaturals at work. Christopher Eccleston does his best work in this and should’ve gotten some award recognition for it (you might know him as the first doctor of the new Doctor Who) Edited July 3, 2021 by Hoss Quote
SwampD Posted July 5, 2021 Report Posted July 5, 2021 Once again, Mad Max Fury Road. I will never tire of this movie. Quote
ubkev Posted July 5, 2021 Report Posted July 5, 2021 Jackie Brown. Might be my favorite Tarantino movie soundtrack. Quote

SABRES 0311 Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 I’ve watched Lincoln so many times lately. I love hearing him tell stories to explain his thinking. Good movie, good actors. Quote
ubkev Posted October 13, 2021 Report Posted October 13, 2021 Just got home from the new 007. No Time To Die. Nope, not a fan. It had a lot of good. But it had too much bad to overcome. Quote
Zamboni Posted October 13, 2021 Report Posted October 13, 2021 (edited) Wife and I saw The Many Saints of Newark last night. Michael Gandolfini is in it less than I expected, but it was a good flick. We’ve also been binge watching Creepshow. That’s pretty good too. Like the way it’s shot and presented. Edited October 13, 2021 by Zamboni Quote

Hoss Posted October 15, 2021 Report Posted October 15, 2021 October is spooky content only. Kicked it off with Midnight Mass on Netflix which is another example of what Mike Flanagan makes the best horror tv writer ever (not movies, just tv). Went with a classic with Clue tonight which I haven’t seen since I was a kid and it was MUCH better as an adult considering I could actually understand the ridiculousness of it all. Quote

Clue is criminally underrated. It is such a well done movie. 1 1 Quote
