Doohicksie Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 Remember how the Okposo/O'Reilly/Reinhart line played against Edmonton? That is our identity. I could get behind a team like that. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 Way back, when Murray was first hired he said something to the effect of "I want big, fast, skilled guys who can shoot bullets and skate through walls. But everybody wants that. If there is one thing I care most about, it is hockey sense." I think that when the pieces come together this team's identity will be neither Pittsburgh, nor LA. It will be smart, competitive and versatile. Remember how the Okposo/O'Reilly/Reinhart line played against Edmonton? That is our identity. Sign me up! Unfortunately, I think the roster is still a ways away from being able to play that way as a whole. Quote

Once Jack comes back, we should be able to roll at least three lines that play smart like that (even if they don't all have that level of talent). I'm thinking Gio/Larsson/Foligno as the third of those lines. Quote

pi2000 Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 The team has no identity yet. They need to start winning games first... only then we can label them. Quote
