LGR4GM Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 If all three are gone, we trade down to get Foote or Valimaki. Only if I get that teams 2nd this year and next year and I don't move down more than 4-5 spots. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) THAT looks pretty acCurate - I`d be tempted to put Heiskanen in the top tier. All signs for him going 3rd. Im in the Minority but I still take Tippett over Liljegren in this scenario. Liljegren seems like a real roll of the dice to me and the Sabres cant afford to miss. Tippett has huge bust potential. The safer picks are Pettersen and Necas and we don't really need either player, but Liljgren has all the skills to be a top line D. That is a risk worth taking. If Liger is right and all 3 D are gone by the time we draft (and we don't trade down) then that means one of Glass, Middlestadt or Vilardi has fallen to us. If that is the case, then Jbot will likely grab that player if we stay put. Only if I get that teams 2nd this year and next year and I don't move down more than 4-5 spots. The cost to move from 12th to 8th is approx the 43rd pick. If we combine picks 37 and 43 we might be able to climb back into the 1st rd at pick 24-26, allowing us to take a pretty solid prospect from tiers 7 and 8. Edited June 21, 2017 by GASabresFan Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Buffalo should draft Tippett or Casey Mittlestadt. Plenty of opportunities to draft defenseman plus talent on offense can be used to acquire defense Actually it's the other way around. Teams with depth on D have a better chance to upgrade. Quote
North Buffalo Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Interesting to see if Vegas gets any more top 5 and resulting changes to draft board with all the D they've accumulated.. Quote

Yes, he is a Kessle clone and that will infuriate some but no one is questioning his hockey sense, skating or shot. Tippett will score a lot of goals in the NHL, I have no doubt about that. 3putt Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 To be fair many have suggested that Jack needs a pure finisher who can keep up. Tippett would be that at the least. Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Here's an interesting question would you trade #8 for #13 and #15? No one would offer that. As I wrote above, to move down from 8 to 12 or 13 you can expect an mid round 2nd as compensation (around 42 or 43). If you get a better pick then 42 that's a great deal that Jbot should jump at. Quote
Brawndo Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Here's an interesting question would you trade #8 for #13 and #15? You would probably need to throw in Minnesota's Second as well to complete the deal. Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Does Vegas have the horses to trade up to grab Patrick? If you were Philly, would you take 6, 13 and 15? I would. The math says Philly should take that deal. https://www.broadstreethockey.com/2013/4/25/4262594/nhl-draft-pick-value-trading-up According the draft pick value table I use: The 2nd pick is worth 69.9 pts the 6th pick is worth 45.9 pts 13th = 31.5 15th = 28.5 However, I think LV would be crazy to make the trade. They need to start an entire prospect pool. I'd package the 13 and 15th to try to move up 3rd or 4th, but I'd keep my 6th. Quote
