SwampD Posted March 2, 2017 Report Posted March 2, 2017 I'm with Flagg. Lessor talented teams this whole season have beat us handily with a short passing puck control game. It's also the reason I don't think our D is as bad as Dan's system makes them look. We tried the short passing puck control game. Those passes jumped over our sticks, too. Quote

qwksndmonster Posted March 2, 2017 Report Posted March 2, 2017 Y'all can talk about DD and systems that you hate and stretch passes and blah blah blah,.. but looking at the tape to tape passing and awareness of every player on the ice that these two teams have (Pitt/Chi), nobody is going to convince me that the Sabres have anything but a talent problem.Yeah okay. Preach it, brother. This roster is almost as lacking as in the good ol' days of DR. Quote
WildCard Posted March 2, 2017 Report Posted March 2, 2017 Preach it, brother. This roster is almost as lacking as in the good ol' days of DR. Sorry NS, that's not even close. This is easily the best forwards roster we've fielded since what? 2007? And before that? Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted March 2, 2017 Report Posted March 2, 2017 (edited) Lots of teams have talent problems. Islanders, Blues, Wild. Then they change coaches, and suddenly the talent problems aren't as severe. The Sabres obviously have roster issues, on the blue line especially. But I can't get to a spot where that's the only problem. Edited March 2, 2017 by TrueBlueGED Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 2, 2017 Report Posted March 2, 2017 Yeah, I think it's a bit of a mix.... If DD is changing his "system" because he doesn't think he has the horses, I can maybe buy that.... But he should be working on maximizing what we can do.... He is not.... Instead he is doing the exact opposite.... Until we are a positive positive possession team, I will continue to believe that Quote

Randall Flagg Posted March 3, 2017 Report Posted March 3, 2017 Leafs have lost 9 games after leading by 2 in the third. Babcock sucks! :P But really they just can't play defense. Theirs is noticeably worse than ours, even. I hope they miss the playoffs so much Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 'Carver High' was having a wet dream on Ferrall's show last night with the Islanders leading 1 - 0 with 1:20 left in the third. I got home (was listening in my car) and didn't hear the final. Found out today the Islanders lost 2 -1 in OT. Poor Carver ... :w00t: Quote
Ducky Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 Laine with 1g and 1a tonight. Laine........58gp....32g....26a....58 points. Matthews..61gp....31g....24a....55 poinis. Calder edge to Laine. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 Laine with the most points ever by an 18yo European rookie, passing Jagr. Quote
bunomatic Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 Laine with the most points ever by an 18yo European rookie, passing Jagr. Where does Selanne fit in there ? He won the Calder with 76 goals, not sure how many points. Quote
Sabel79 Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 Matthews is still going to win the Calder regardless of how much better Laine is because Toronto. Just to see the world burn, if I had a vote it'd be for Matt Murray. Which is actually kind of defensible... Quote
