dudacek
There is nothing wrong whatsoever about that hit in the hockey I grew up with. But it is a clear illustration of where the argument is shifting: hitting — clean, by the book and embraced by the hockey world for most of its existence — is violent and dangerous; people are getting hurt. That Aud Smell
Am I the only one who thinks that's just a great hit? Quibbling, but I don't think I would call it "great." Tremendous. Devastating. It was a great hit. Dude got caught with his head down. That phrase is misused so much, that I can't use it anymore in talking about a legal hit. There is nothing wrong whatsoever about that hit in the hockey I grew up with. But it is a clear illustration of where the argument is shifting: hitting — clean, by the book and embraced by the hockey world for most of its existence — is violent and dangerous; people are getting hurt. Agreed. I'm not sure that specific hit can be removed from the game without fundamentally changing what the game is. It's not necessarily an easy thing to accept and reconcile, as a fan. I'd rather leave it in the game and take better care of players after they're not in the game anymore. Think of it like providing care for military vets. They made sacrifices to earn a living and they did it for the rest of us. I think it's up to the leagues to do a better job of this. I'd love for the NHL to step up and created a fund that helps care for players after they've left the league.
LTS
The NHL needs to be brought to task on this crap of players jumping on, over, and around an injured player. There's no room for it. - a player goes down and you go after the guy who is still near the injured player you should be ejected and automatically suspended 5 games or more. Larsen was totally vulnerable there and he may have sustained more severe injuries had his idiotic teammate not skated right into his damn head. The NHLPA should be addressing that within their own ranks as well. It's a union... in theory. It's disgusting. Players have to be far more aware of what they are doing in that situation. One misstep and Larsen goes from unconscious to having his throat cut open. The hit itself was totally clean and needs to occur in hockey. You are going to get hit hard at times. You can't take it out of the game. Of all the hits that occur it's rare the result is similar to what we see in this situation. Larsen HAS to protect himself and his teammates have to warn him. If they did and he still got rocked then that's the way it goes.
Eleven
he has a whopping 4 points this year and Maurice puts him out as the 4th shooter? Gimme a break.....trade him as he is taking up valuable space. Jets drop one in a SO after leading 3-1 after the first period. 4th game in 5 nights and 29th game of the season. I can reopen our Drew Stafford Must Go thread if you'd like. The NHL needs to be brought to task on this crap of players jumping on, over, and around an injured player. Ducky
To be fair, Staf has only played 14 games but there are a few players I would have put out on the SO before him. Said it a hundred times, he is taking a space away from a player that needs the development...we aren't winning the cup this year...deal him. Myers has played 11 games and is out and Armia 10 games and he is out. Edited December 7, 2016 by Ducky

Huckleberry
Hall hit on Larsen why we wear helmets still devasting and player need to be more aware of out cold player... Wow granlund and markstrom were protecting him and cleaning the ice around him. But off all the others, I see two jersay skates making contact with his head while he is down, really them. pi2000
Galchenyuk and Desharnais both out 6-8 weeks for Montreal. No surgery for either though That sucks for them, Galchenyuk was having a great season. I like him as a player he's going to be a pain in our side for many years. Back then it was a female-only institution, and RPI was 80 Male/20 Female (or worse). So our fraternity would "import" girls from other schools. I almost want Boston to win this game. Sorry, I just couldn't.

Unfortunately it seems that all too often "still out" is the usual for him. It's to the point where I don't think it's smart to count on him to be a viable top 4 option as he's just not available enough. At least with Kane, when he gets hurt, he always seems to get back quicker than you'd think. And it's easier to fill in for him temporarily, him being in a depth forward role, than it is for a top 4 D man. I've heard good things about Roslovic. Kaner always wants to come back from injury WAY before the doctors let him. He has a high pain threshold. I think Jets' management want Roslo to eventually become the 2C. He's played with some talented players in his career so far and has 17 points. in 21 games on the farm. sidenote ... I read today that TO, Buffalo and Winnipeg employ the most scouts of any team in the NHL (24 I think).

Doohicksie
Philly-EDM tied 5-5 with 2 minutes left. It's been a very entertaining see-saw game. And there's Raffl scoring for Philly with 1:29 left. Come on, McJesus.... can you rally your team? Come on, McJesus.... can you rally your team? Nope. WildCard
McDavid and the Oilers losing to Philly for Philly's 7th straight win, McDavid chirping up Manning, the guy that put him into the boards last season. McDavid ain't your quite little Canadian, folks. He's kinda a dick Oh and Price got some contact by a Devils player and stood over him and just kept punching him until other NJ players arrived. Got some good shots in too
