That Aud Smell Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Fwiw: Lehner had a high ankle sprain, but was an overweight goalie. Mostly kidding about the weight, but the goalie thing is a huge factor.
Derrico Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 3mWhether there is more definitive/different diagnosis still to be seen, but for now BUF anticipates minimum 4-6 wk absence, perhaps longer. My God where can I sign up for 4-6 weeks??
That Aud Smell Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Others on the Twitter saying that high ankles can also be more like 6-8. Which, even if so, you're talking early December.
Wyldnwoody44 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Not at all - although I think that physician did, as she was pretty clearly doing it to see if she could get my ass laid out on the floor.Ya know, I'm far from mean like that, but if it was intentional it's a little funny.... Ethical... Maybe not, but still funny Unlike this injury
That Aud Smell Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Who's up for a return that coincides with Thanksgiving? Give thanks, indeed!
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Others on the Twitter saying that high ankles can also be more like 6-8. Which, even if so, you're talking early December. The season isn't shot.
ct fab Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Hopefully with youth he heals faster. Girgs keeps on fkn us
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 There are 27 games between now and December 12th, which is about eight weeks away. If it's six, he misses 20, which, again, wouldn't be the end of the season.
That Aud Smell Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I'm really reserving judgment. Those high ankle sprains are notoriously difficult to recover from. If that's what it is, you can already anticipate him returning, say, in late November, but not looking at all like himself until some time in the new year.
pi2000 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 If true.... He's done for half the season at least They said 6-10 weeks for Lehner after his high ankle sprain.... so I would guess we'd be looking at sometime around the beginning of Dec, which mean he misses about 20-25 games.
Kruppstahl Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Others on the Twitter saying that high ankles can also be more like 6-8. Which, even if so, you're talking early December. If it really is a high ankle sprain, it won't be right and it will bother him all year long.
nucci Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 3mWhether there is more definitive/different diagnosis still to be seen, but for now BUF anticipates minimum 4-6 wk absence, perhaps longer. so basically, no X-ray or MRI.....we just know it's not his knee.......could still have ligament damage, fracture......
Brawndo Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Ok it could have been much, much worse
nucci Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 If it really is a high ankle sprain, it won't be right and it will bother him all year long. Yep Ok it could have been much, much worse it still could be....haven't done an X-ray or MRI
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I think this team can hold onto .500 until he gets back.
biodork Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Didn't Gaustad have a high ankle sprain at some point while he was here? It was bad, but not season-ending bad.
North Buffalo Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Yep it still could be....haven't done an X-ray or MRI I am betting xray done already, MRI to follow maybe shortly. Could know a lot a contrasted high res CT as well not sure of Sabres protocol. Edited October 12, 2016 by North Buffalo
pi2000 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I am betting xray done already, MRI to follow maybe shortly. Right, they have x-ray equipment at the key bank hockey place
Derrico Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I think this team can hold onto .500 until he gets back. We need Lehner. He was important before but now it's Defcon 5. We need to hold onto .500 for the first 25-30 games of the year until he's back. Bayly getting the promotion I assume?
Eleven Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Right, they have x-ray equipment at the key bank hockey place It's been four hours. They probably have both the x-ray and the MRI done by now.
Drunkard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Looks like the knee to me. Why do you think this? He gets up on his knees after the injury. If it was a knee injury the last thing he would do would put extra strain on it by kneeling. Edited October 12, 2016 by Drunkard
Jsixspd Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Sabres' season starts tomorrow, was ready to start posting with high hopes for a year where we qualify for the playoffs, everything looking like it was coming up roses, and now this...... smh! And a practice injury too, FFS!!! Unbelievable!!! Hopefully, the rest of the roster is strong enough now, with enough depth, that losing him for 1/3rd or more of the season won't be a crippler.
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Just think of all the housework Reinhart is going to have to do with Eichel injured. That house is going to be a mess.
wjag Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 It's been four hours. They probably have both the x-ray and the MRI done by now. Don't they wait on the MRI until the swelling goes down?
nucci Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I am betting xray done already, MRI to follow maybe shortly. Could know a lot a contrasted high res CT as well not sure of Sabres protocol. Right, maybe done but we don't know the results
