Jsixspd Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 No timetable for return = not good. We didn't get McDavid but we consoled ourselves at the idea that Jack is more durable than Connor. Guess not. :(
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 .500 hockey hurts us what? 60 points in February? That ain't enough for a runHe won't be out until February.
nucci Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 No timetable for return = not good. We didn't get McDavid but we consoled ourselves at the idea that Jack is more durable than Connor. Guess not. :( we did?
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I recall Briere missing half of 05-06. Was it the same injury?
Jsixspd Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Bylsma needs to have this team ON FIRE tomorrow night, and come out scoring, to put this unfortunate incident out of the minds of the Buffalo media and the Buffalo fans. If we win, and keep winning, sans Eichel, then everyone will be optimistic - thinking how GOOD this team will be when Eichel rejoins.IF Bylsma doesn't have the team ready to play, and it's a lackluster showing, then we'll have the beginnings of a full fledged negativity avalanche in progress.
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 we did? That talk was all over here, yeah. This is why it was stupid.
thewookie1 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) 46 to 50 days so about sometime in December 6 weeks to 4 months is the timeline given varying on severity. So anytime between late November and the Feb 1st which would 17 weeks. Edited October 12, 2016 by thewookie1
josie Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 All this time off his leg just means he's gonna get even MORE ripped up top. Sabres Chinup Champion 2016-17
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Call up Nylander!Nooooo. No way am I ruining Nylander like we did Grigorenko

I don't know, kinda hard for the team not to be a little deflated out of the gate. At some point they'll rally, not sure that's tomorrow night.
Jsixspd Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 we did? Well, I did at least. :( As I recall it was discussed a bit. McDavid was taken out by sliding into the boards with another player in a pile - now Jack goes out in practice.... with under 10 minutes left.... @#$%!
qwksndmonster Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Better that it happens now than before the playoffs next year. The team will still be better than it was last year. If Lehner is as good as Dudacek says then we should still make the playoffs this year.
wjag Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Nooooo. No way am I ruining Nylander like we did Grigorenko Grigs is currently on the third line in Colorado. I'd hardly say he was ruined...
mjd1001 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 A lot of speculation on the timing of this injury....so that is up in the air. HOWEVER lets say he was out to January...I would MUCH rather he not be rushed back. I'll take a star player being out an extra MONTH if he comes back healthy...what I hate is when someone is out for a long period of time...then comes back but we hear he isn't playing 100% for the rest of the year.
biodork Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I recall Briere missing half of 05-06. Was it the same injury? I'm thinking that was an abdominal sprain/tear, but not sure.
bob_sauve28 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Nooooo. No way am I ruining Nylander like we did Grigorenko Ummmm....no comment
wjag Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I don't know, kinda hard for the team not to be a little deflated out of the gate. At some point they'll rally, not sure that's tomorrow night. At least Sabres catch a good break in that Price has the flu or something..
zippyfeet Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Another high draft pick coming our way
3putt Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I'd rather see Baptiste or Carrier. Move Samson to the middle and give him some natural finishers to play with. Nylander and Bailey need a bit more time.
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I'm thinking that was an abdominal sprain/tear, but not sure.A hernia maybe? Regardless, the 2005-2006 season, one of our best ever, only had Daniel Briere play in 48 regular season games. If this team is what we hope it is, having Eichel miss fewer than Danny did that season shouldn't have us depressed that the season is over before it started.
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Grigs is currently on the third line in Colorado. I'd hardly say he was ruined...He was when we traded him away
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 FYI: depending on the stablitiy of the ankle, Jack could be back in the exercise room in a week and then back skating in 3 weeks from today. I'd therefore say that he could be back playing in as little as a month. My expectation is 6-8 weeks.

We have nowhere near that level of depth though
mjd1001 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Okposo out...Eichel out...O'Rielly maybe out for the opener...vs a team with Carey Price...their #1 player out. Around the league....Crosby (the best, if not one of the best...and the face of the NHL) out....all before the first game. I know some of this stuff is unrelated....but does it seem like when watching sports these days injuries and games missed are just too big of a part of it?
