pi2000 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 We need Lehner. He was important before but now it's Defcon 5. We need to hold onto .500 for the first 25-30 games of the year until he's back. Bayly getting the promotion I assume? Kane/Moulson/Okposo/Ennis need to produce early. PIT was .500 around Christmas last season IIRC.
Eleven Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Don't they wait on the MRI until the swelling goes down? Oh, maybe so.
Jsixspd Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 The Cubs have Murphy the Goat. We have Russ the Brandon. I even read there was less than 8 minutes left in that practice. Unbelievable.
SwampD Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I'll take 4-6 weeks in a ###### heartbeat He'll play tomorrow and get a hat-trick.
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 He'll play tomorrow and get a hat-trick.He would have barring 10m of practice time
Brawndo Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Didn't Gaustad have a high ankle sprain at some point while he was here? It was bad, but not season-ending bad. Crosby suffered a high ankle sprain in either 07 or 08 and missed 50 days.
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Crosby suffered a high ankle sprain in either 07 or 08 and missed 50 days.Days? I can't do 7 weeks man
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 If it really is a high ankle sprain, it won't be right and it will bother him all year long. Yea. He'll be back for a good chunk of the season, but I don't expect him to be totally normal until next year.
ROC Sabres Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Didn't Gaustad have a high ankle sprain at some point while he was here? It was bad, but not season-ending bad.I thought he had his Achilles severed by someone's skate.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Just think of all the housework Reinhart is going to have to do with Eichel injured. That house is going to be a mess. Yea, but maybe Jack can use his downtime to learn how to cook.
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I thought he had his Achilles severed by someone's skate. That was Letang. Or Karlsson?
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I thought he had his Achilles severed by someone's skate. That was Pominville.
biodork Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Crosby suffered a high ankle sprain in either 07 or 08 and missed 50 days. :( I thought he had his Achilles severed by someone's skate. I was about to agree with you until... That was Pominville. This sounds right.
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Pommer happened right before or during the 2011 playoff run. Karlsson or Letang also had one, but they look so much alike I forgot which one. Leaning Karlsson Edited October 12, 2016 by WildCard

Stoner Posted October 12, 2016 Author Report Posted October 12, 2016 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 4mInitial diagnosis on Jack Eichel immediately after incident was high ankle sprain, but Eichel is seeing doctors/getting imaging done. Bob's reporting seems a little squishy. I'm holding out for a definitive statement from the team. Just think of all the housework Reinhart is going to have to do with Eichel injured. That house is going to be a mess. And the sponge baths! Not to channel the ghost of GoDD here, but this will be a challenge for the Sabres medical staff. Show of hands. Who has confidence? Eichel better be getting the best, world-classiest care through this. And I know no one wants to hear this, but there's a career, not a half season, to worry about.
qwksndmonster Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I was so looking forward to caring about hockey. I forgot about the downside to caring...
WildCard Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) I'm betting FebruarySo there goes the entire season. Hurray for 12 months of waiting and another top 10 draft pick. me Edited October 12, 2016 by WildCard
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Guys, it's going to be okay. If this team can't play .500 hockey without Jack for a couple months, we weren't going to go anywhere this season anyway. Get Jack healthy, watch what Samson and Lehner do to break out, enjoy having 3 20-goal wingers, and when Jack gets back, we make a playoff run.
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Back to a positive spin. Lets say Jack is out for half the season. I expected Jack to score 30 goals this season. So his numbers gets reduced in half. I also expected this team to score at least 230 goals. With this injury and to reach the goal, we need the other 20 skaters to score 1 extra goal. Is that really to much to ask? I don't think so. Reinhart's role will expand giving him more opportunity to score. Also Fasching will probably go from a bottom 6 role to a top 6 role giving substantially more opportunity to score and he has the size and hands to do it. It could also mean more opportunity for Moulson and Girgensons to step up. Personally I think this is the chance Big Z has been looking for. (And no he wasn't trying to hurt Jack.)
