3putt Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I think D Lo can do enough to be part of a good playoff team. But maybe playing 50 or so games? 50 seems a bit too much. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I like him on the 4th line. He's perfect there. Let's not act like I want him anywhere else. Hear hear Quote
3putt Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Gus and Ennis seem to have a bit of flow going. Quote

SwampD Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) He can skate, hit and is beloved in the room. He's a Rob Ray for the 2010s. Rob Ray wishes he was as good at hockey as DLo. Â edit: maybe that's what you mean by the 2010 bit. Edited October 5, 2016 by SwampD Quote
3putt Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 See: Jordan Nolan Nolan has better mitts and can contribute more. Quote
darksabre Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Nolan has better mitts and can contribute more. I don't really agree at all. I think they're pretty much comparable. Quote

bob_sauve28 Posted October 5, 2016 Author Report Posted October 5, 2016 Josh Georges plays and we get another shut out. Just sayin! Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted October 5, 2016 Author Report Posted October 5, 2016 Gus and Ennis seem to have a bit of flow going.you missed Ennis tapping his stick and Gus just taking a bad angle shot instead? Quote
dudacek Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Nice effort against a lesser lineup. I'm going against the wishes of the mob here and say that Cody Franson has looked like a very good bottom pairing defencemen. Quote
3putt Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 you missed Ennis tapping his stick and Gus just taking a bad angle shot instead? Must have, but I did see some great cycling and a few crisp passes for chances. Baby steps. Quote
Doohicksie Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I love D-Lo. He's just not a very good hockey player. Don't think he belongs as a lineup regular. Â Maybe not, but he makes a nice 13th forward AND 7th D. Did you just spank your lunch? :( Â NICE. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Nice effort against a lesser lineup. I'm going against the wishes of the mob here and say that Cody Franson has looked like a very good bottom pairing defencemen. Â Franson was fine last year when he was on the 3rd pair, and he'll be fine there this year. Nelson may just be better, though. Â Â Maybe not, but he makes a nice 13th forward AND 7th D. Â NICE. Â I'm fine with him as the 13th forward, but if he's your 7th D, you better go sign somebody. He's purely an emergency body there. Quote
Doohicksie Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Gus and Ennis seem to have a bit of flow going.  Yep. I like that. He's purely an emergency body there.  Well naturally because they will have a 7th D on the team, but everyone once in a while due to injuries/penalties the team will end up with only 3 D that can play; I like having an ex-Dman sitting there, ready to take a shift on the blue line. 3putt Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 No stats posted on NHL.com, but it seemed Nelson logged a lot of ice time. No Okposo, ROR, Risto Kane or Kulikov. Jack's first game back and Samson seems to be picking up where he left off. This will be a fun team to watch. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Nice effort against a lesser lineup. I'm going against the wishes of the mob here and say that Cody Franson has looked like a very good bottom pairing defencemen. He looks to be one of the six best defensemen we've seen, for sure. I wish we had brought in one more guy, to make him the first up in an injury situation, though. Quote

Gets the puck and turns up ice instinctively. Quote

You and I are on the same page as to this team's biggest need. And there are moments when he looks like the answer. I'm just second guessing whether with Nelson I sometimes see what I want to see. I struggle to balance the Nelson I see on the offensive blueline with the Nelson I see on defensive zone coverage. Quote

I wanted Nelson to win the spot really bad, but top-pairing minutes in Rochester to get practice with this is likely the best move for his development. Quote

He seems much calmer and is seeing the puck well. The one that rang the crossbar and he lost sight of brought back memories of Hasek with his glove flip behind him just in case.. Quote
