CallawaySabres Posted October 1, 2016 Report Posted October 1, 2016 So what is the word from last night? Quote
dudacek Posted October 1, 2016 Report Posted October 1, 2016 Kulikov, Bogo and Lehner nursing what are thought to be minor injuries. Baptiste also hurt. I've not heard an update there. Quote
Thorner Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Baptiste is headed to the Amerks either way, as per reports. Lehner is back practicing. So looks like we are dealing with minor injuries to Kulikov and (surprise!) Bogosian. Hopefully both are in the lineup opening day or we are in a world of hurt on the back end. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted October 4, 2016 Author Report Posted October 4, 2016 So what is wrong with Okposo? Quote
CallawaySabres Posted October 6, 2016 Author Report Posted October 6, 2016 With the lack of responses, I am assuming there is nothing to worry about here? Quote
ddaryl Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 I dont think anyone has any good info about these injuries.. I'm concerned now that O'Reilly is dinged Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 So what is wrong with Okposo? With the lack of responses, I am assuming there is nothing to worry about here? He took a puck off his knee so they got an MRI and no one has said it is bad. Supposedly just a bruise and they wanted to keep him out for the Carolina games because it is preseason so no reason to not play it safe. http://tipofthetower.com/2016/10/04/buffalo-sabres-kyle-okposo-injury-update/ Quote
wjag Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) Also ROR with a lower body injury... severity unknown cause its a LBI Starting to look like a MASH unit before it even begins. Edited October 6, 2016 by wjag Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 ROR supposedly tweaked a muscle in his lower body (leg) and so they kept him out to make sure he didn't hurt himself further. Also ROR with a lower body injury... severity unknown cause its a LBI Starting to look like a MASH unit before it even begins. No it is preseason so if a guy tweaks anything at all he sits. You don't run the risk of long term injuries in pre-season. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Bill Hoppe tweeted that ROR has spasms in back and mid section. Quote
WildCard Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Bill Hoppe tweeted that ROR has spasms in back and mid section. Is that serious? Quote
pi2000 Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Bill Hoppe tweeted that ROR has spasms in back and mid section from playing floor hockey in dress shoes. ...fixed. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted October 6, 2016 Author Report Posted October 6, 2016 So what happened to Kulikov, is he going to be ready for the opener? If not, our D is going to be brutal for the start (unless Risto signs) Quote
Brawndo Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 So what happened to Kulikov, is he going to be ready for the opener? If not, our D is going to be brutal for the start (unless Risto signs) Has bruised tail bone, he was checked into the boards and unsecured door opened on him and his posterior caught the corner. Occurred in the 8-1 Loss vs Toronto Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 No. Kulikov might start skating tomorrow. http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/sabres-ryan-oreilly-day-day/ Quote
nucci Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Also ROR with a lower body injury... severity unknown cause its a LBI Starting to look like a MASH unit before it even begins. I'm not sure you know what a MASH unit looks like Quote
Thorner Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/sabres-battling-injuries-late-in-camp/c-282446824 O'Reilly, Okposo, Kulikov, Bogosian, Baptiste, Catenacci. I'd by lying if I said I wasn't frustrated by the fact that lately seemingly every preseason camp involves a fair few Sabres injuries. Is there anything to this? I suppose it's just bad luck. Not how we want to be heading into the season though. Originally they said Bogosian's injury was minor. In that posted article, it's now said he's "begun skating alone". Seems so similar to last year with regards to him. Seems like there's a fair chance he won't be ready to start the year. Edited October 7, 2016 by Thorny Quote
Stoner Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 Maybe both the NHL and the NFL need to examine the war of attrition that is "training camp" and "preseason." Quote
Thorner Posted October 8, 2016 Report Posted October 8, 2016 Maybe both the NHL and the NFL need to examine the war of attrition that is "training camp" and "preseason." Almost certainly. Particularly the NFL. Just seems so long and gruelling. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2016 Report Posted October 9, 2016 Sabres Twitter Coach Bylsma: Kulikov, Bogosian & O'Reilly skated today. Good progression for #77 & #47. Rest has done Ryan well. Foligno under the weather. Bill Hoppe Kyle Okposo (bruised knee) is "uncertain" for the opener, Dan Bylsma said. #Sabres Quote
CallawaySabres Posted October 11, 2016 Author Report Posted October 11, 2016 So are we really looking at not having O'Reilly or Okposo for the opener? Quote
Brawndo Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 Kulikov first player on the ice for practice this AM Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) Buffalo SabresVerified account@BuffaloSabres Ryan O'Reilly is on the ice with the team for practice. Kulikov & Bogosian are here too. Note: Kyle Okposo is not practicing but watching from the bench. Report is his knee is doing better but he might miss the opener.
