nucci Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 I know the consensus here is he's done, but that doesn't chance the fact he's signed for three more years at $15 million. If you are Murray and Bylsma, what do you do? http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2016/09/24/sabres-notebook-moulson-lot-prove-scrimmage-results-shorter-muse-stands-tall/ Play him and see if still can contribute Quote
Doohicksie Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 Yeah - maybe a little too much there. Besides: Old Yeller isn't exactly apt -- Moulson's just the old gray mare; he isn't rabid. You don't have to back off. I didn't say unwarranted. Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 he is on pace for an 82 goal season  Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 he is on pace for an 82 goal season  What if!! :D I was ready to run him out of town, but how cool if he pots 30 goals! Quote

That Aud Smell Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 I had it wrong: I expected Ennis to show signs of renewed life, and for Moulson to continue his fade into Bolivia. It's vice versa. Quote

Settle done there big fella, still a long season to go. As I said elsewhere, I'm giving Ennis 10-15 games to find his sea legs. Moulson may be able to get a few PP goals (until his spot on the top unit is forfeit to Eichel), but is still giving zilch even strength. I give him credit for effort, but I don't think he's won a single board battle all year. Quote

I have faith that he will be good again. He took one hit last night that made me yelp out loud. He skated away, apparently unscathed. Quote

We should be patient because of last years injury but he's got about 15-20 games of the crappy play before we should move on. He's a veteran and should get up to speed fast or else he isn't that good anymore. Quote

I don't think this team will throw him on the trash heap after only 1/4 season. If Moulson keeps this up, GMTM will need to give serious consideration to protecting him in the expansion draft. He's playing fast(er), and is much much more engaged on the forecheck and getting to loose pucks. He'll continue to score if he keeps doing those little things. Quote

He's way too expensive & the end is around the corner for him. He won't be protected & he won't be taken unless Vegas is desperate to get to their expansion draft floor salary. Quote

The odds are greater that Moulson will sprout wings and fly to Vegas than they are that GMTM will protect him. Quote
French Collection Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 GMTM may have a plan to dump Moulson on Vegas. Play him on the PP, hope he scores 30. Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 So you're sayin' there's a chance. That chance is only there in case we understand the rules somehow wrong and have to protect him for some reason. but yes to your reference Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Moulson, even if he has a great comeback season isn't going to be protected because his salary is more valuable to the franchise then his production given his age. Quote
