Stormin Norman Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 This was briefly touched on in another recent post on another topic based on my search... What shall the arena now be called? Key Bank Center? No. KBC? No. How about: The Key Hole The Key-ster That may be as creative as I can get! Any other ideas? Quote
sabills Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 I'm just calling it "The Bank"; we're on our 4th one, after all. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 I've called it "the arena" since it opened and I don't foresee that changing to accommodate Key Bank. Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 Serious answer: KeyBank Arena Fun answers: GMTM's Thunderdome The house that Jack built The glory Key hole Bank on it Center Quote
North Buffalo Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 I'm just calling it "The Bank"; we're on our 4th one, after all.So Banks Arena then, not bad or ...The Big Bank... Quote
Cereal Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 I've hear/read that lots of people always just call it "The Arena". Maybe it is easier to call it that when you reside in Buffalo? In close proximity to "The Arena"? Maybe I'm alone, but I always called it "HSBC" or "First Niagara"*. I'm sure soon enough I'll end up calling it "KeyBank"...? I can't remember what I called it when it was Marine Midland. I was kinda younger back then  Something like "The Bank" could be fun. I'm envisioning RJ with a goal call... something like: "Jack takin' it to the bank for Game 7..." Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 I was in Buffalo recently down near the Arena and everyone called it "the Arena". I think it is similar to people calling New Era Field, "the Ralph" Quote

Hoss Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 If you call it "KeyBank Arena" I'll just assume you don't know what you're talking about even if you're Liger and do indeed know what you're talking about. I'll call it "home of the Stanley Cup" early next summer but until then "KeyBank Center" will do fine. Quote

pastajoe Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 When the Sabres play soft: "There's no checking at The Bank". When they don't: "Matthews got deposited on his keyyyy-ster". Quote
spndnchz Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 They are renaming the Albright-Knox too. Is this what old feels like? I'm starting to dislike change. Quote
Sabre Dance Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 Because it looks like a fuel storage container AND because of the recent goings-on there over the past few seasons, I suggest we call it "The Tank". No? Too soon? Quote

Really that sucks, I protest... someone call Trump and HRC and make it a campaign issue. Edited September 23, 2016 by North Buffalo Quote
Hoss Posted September 23, 2016 Report Posted September 23, 2016 They are? What are they naming it?! Albright-Knox-Gundlach Art Museum, or AKG Art Museum. WNY native donated $42.5 million which deserves getting his name slapped on there. Quote

WNY native donated $42.5 million which deserves getting his name slapped on there. Makes sense; at one point it was just the "Albright Museum", then Knox paid to add a new building to the campus so they added his name. Now they're adding another building via Gundlach's donation, so he gets his name on the side, too. Edited September 23, 2016 by sabills Quote

Why should he/she have the right to start putting names on museums? Can this person even paint? Edited September 23, 2016 by Eleven Quote
