Claude Balls Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 I'm not into this drifting stuff, but thought this was a very cool video shot around Buffalo. Starts at the old central train terminal and ends at the industrial waterfront. At one point he almost dumps his car into Lake Erie. https://www.google.com/amp/jalopnik.com/gymkhana-nine-ken-blocks-drops-industrial-grade-hoonag-1786567618/amp Quote

Claude Balls Posted September 13, 2016 Author Report Posted September 13, 2016 That's a sweet video. I love watching these. Yeah, it's pretty sick. They were originally supposed to shoot the video in Sydney, Australia but couldn't work it out with Sydney Police. So they came to Buffalo. Not too shabby. Quote
MattPie Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Dude, the comments on the Jalopmik article are sweet. Quote

LTS Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Sigh. "Niagra Frontier Transportation Authority" It does not rhyme with the little blue pill. 7:41 of the video. Other than that.. cool. Quote
North Buffalo Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Noice vid though luv that lake scene... Quote
jsb Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 That brought back some memories, I grew up closer to the bridge but about the midpoint of the terminal and the bridge. Quote
pi2000 Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Brings back memories of driving the s-curves on Delaware Ave in the middle of winter in my honda civic. Quote
2 minuter för grovbearbetn Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 I drive like an old lady, but that was pretty cool. All of could think of was, "Why isn't this guy a stunt driver in one of the Fast and Furious movies?" Then I thought, "Imagine a cop trying to follow him to give him a ticket." Quote
Weave Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Now that I've watched it.... Awesome. And ending the film with Lemmy? *swoons* Quote

MattPie Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Some background. Ken Block indeed has been doing these for years, first with Subarus and later the Ford Focus (which in Europe has some really hot versions running around). He was in the World Rally Championship for awhile, but didn't have a ton of success. I think his best finish was 7th and usually he was down towards the bottom of the pack. He's a great showman but apparently doesn't quite have "it" when it comes to competing against the top guys in the world. I love the videos, though. There's something to it as I played it for MrsPie last night thinking she'd enjoy the Buffalo bits but she was really impressed and watched the Dubai video with me afterwards. Color my shocked. In a similar vein, once you get through the Ken Block videos, go watch Danny McCaskill ride a bicycle. Quote
Winston Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 In a similar vein, once you get through the Ken Block videos, go watch Danny McCaskill ride a bicycle. The other day I avoided a large rock and then jumped a small log on my mountain bike. I was feeling pretty good about it until watching this video... Wow, thanks for sharing! Wonder what the broken bone count was for him to get that skilled Quote
Huckleberry Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) Nice to see a little bit of buffalo. Edited September 14, 2016 by Huckleberry Quote
