OT - Earthquake in Italy

PLEASE keep thoughts & prayers to those in central Italy affected by this earthquake...I have family in Rome & am desperately awaiting word from my cousin that everything is OK.....

 

Lots of Italian-Americans in Buffalo (.....or just "American" as some here would say), so this hits home for many

I have some friends who just got home to Buffalo last night from vacation in Italy. Glad they got out just in time, but feeling for everyone else there.

I just chatted with my cousin on FB as she spends her summers at the family home in Vastogirardi, about 2 hours NNE of Rome. Everything is OK thankfully, though the town of Amatrice got wiped out.

Yeah, Amatrice is pretty messed up right now.

 

Weird how entire towns can just be wiped out by natural causes.  Fort McMurray and Amatrice this summer alone.

This happens in Italy to often, they should work on their building code.
