dudacek Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) Another small feather for hockey heaven, innit? No idea if it's even feasible, but I wonder if they will ever consider wooing the Ann Arbor program. Edited August 2, 2016 by dudacek Quote
Two or less Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 The selection camp for the USA Team will be held in Buffalo Dec 15-20. http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2016/08/02/buffalo-host-usa-hockey-national-junior-select-camp-december/ This is pretty cool. Some very talented forwards on that team. Also, Sabres d-men (3rd rd pick) Casey Fitzgerald has a real good chance of making it. Quote
LGR4GM Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 A little off topic but think of how many young Americans aren't on this team because they are so good they are already NHL guys. Then look at how good this team should be. Future is looking great for American World Hockey. Quote
3putt Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 That is also a stark contrast to some other country's approach such as deploying max age players just to load the roster to win. USAHockey seems to want to get as many prospects exposure to international competition with the hope that they cover the full development curves of as many of them as possible. Borgen in last years WJC and Fasching invited back to Worlds this spring as examples. Borgen was not a USNDP product which was surprising. Quote
LTS Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Judging by the number of top draft picks this year that are USA hockey players... things are indeed going well. I was talking to someone from Dallas the other night who said there are rinks all over the place now and that hockey has been gaining in popularity quite significantly. Quote
