Thorner Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 I'd like to see: ROR - C Eichel - A Reinhart - A I think Eichel assuredly gets a letter. Quote
North Buffalo Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 I'd like to see: ROR - C Eichel - A Reinhart - A I think Eichel assuredly gets a letter. Only if Eichel brings in Vessey, otherwise Reinhart and Risto as A's and ROR not till Gionta retires and coaches. Quote
bcsaberks Posted July 13, 2016 Report Posted July 13, 2016 I'd like to see it go to O'Reilly now. I get it though, it won't. I think Gionta is a healthy scratch by mid-year, especially if Vesey signs and we are in the hunt for playoffs. Dude is 37! Old man Legwand is 1.5 years younger. Quote
DirtDart Posted July 13, 2016 Report Posted July 13, 2016 Should Gionta relinquish his captaincy to Ryan O'Reilly and become an assistant captain this season? I say yes. Not because I dislike Gionta but because it provides ROR an entire year to learn from Gionta if needed while also being the guy. ROR knows his time is coming, I see Gionta retiring after this coming year. If Gionta gives it to him then fine, otherwise let it ride. Quote

I think reports of his looming demise might be greatly exaggerated. I think people haven't really given enough thought to the possibility of the Sabres re-signing him. Rasmus_ Posted July 13, 2016 Report Posted July 13, 2016 Gionta, is here one more season and has done nothing but carry himself well. He's earned the right to captain the team in his final year. Unless extended at a lower cap hit. Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted July 13, 2016 Report Posted July 13, 2016 As long as Gionta is a Sabre he will be Captain. I'm with duda ... I think the Sabres should re-sign him for 2 more years. Quote
Cisse Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 I think Gionta deserves to wear the C. No reason to change it now. Quote
