Hoss Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 So now what? Chad Johnson to CAL. One year deal Quote
darksabre Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Time to get that Fowler trade done I think. Quote
dudacek Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Ulmark? We need to sign a veteran. If Ullmark beats him out, fine. Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Enroth makes the most sense now to me. Quote

Hoss Posted July 1, 2016 Author Report Posted July 1, 2016 Vogl tweet for some reference on what's available: Unless I've missed a signing, available backups: Al Montoya, Jhonas Enroth, Jonas Gustavsson, Ben Scrivens, Karri Ramo, Anders Lindback. Quote
darksabre Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 I would absolutely take Jhonas back. But I suspect GMTM would opt for Lindback. Quote
Eleven Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Agree that they need a vet and agree that Enroth would be a great choice. Quote
nobody Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 I would absolutely take Jhonas back. But I suspect GMTM would opt for Lindback. Agreed - GMTM loves the big boys. He would bring Lindback back before Enroth. Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Agree that they need a vet and agree that Enroth would be a great choice. Not only that but its rumoured big goalies will have the most issues with the equipment changes that go into effect from next year. Would give enroth 3x 2.5 mill to come back. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Johnson was very solid last year. From my perspective, I'm not sure why Murray didn't just bring him back. Quote

Taro T Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 I'd go with the other Jonas as a backup That'd be my guess. Those suggesting it could be Lindback are forgetting that he was brought in when TM WANTED to lose games. If Nolan had them actually playing hockey rather that 'crowd your own net & pray a wide shot gets out of the zone' he wouldnt have won a game. He can't move & square back up. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Enroth makes the most sense now to me. He's too small to play in the NHL. Quote
apuszczalowski Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) Not much available, trade options?I can't even think of who would be available in a trade as a backup, maybe one of Dallas' guys or Jimmy Howard in Detroit. Those guys cost a bit though. I would take Bernier off the Leafs hands because I think he might be good out of TO Edited July 1, 2016 by apuszczalowski Quote
LGR4GM Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 I like what Calgary has done this offseason. The sucked last year and got their coach fired simply because their goaltending was atrocious. I like aggressively fixing that issue Quote

Maybe an NHL ready guy whos stuck behind someone? Plenty of assets to use, competition is a good thing. Quote

Plenty of assets to use, competition is a good thing.hope so too,one reason why I wouldn't mind Bernier, he showed potential with LA, and Toronto usually isn't a good place to judge goalies. I think outside of TO he could be good. I'm sure there's guys out there that might surprise. I just can't think of any off the top of my head. Quote
Kristian Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Enroth makes the most sense now to me. Too small ;-) Quote
